When all of my team members and myself reserve rooms we try to communicate to the guest that our pool and hotel will be undergoing a few upgrades. If this was not conveyed to you I apologize. My husband and I are mobile Scrap Contractors and travel to many areas for work; staying in hotels is something we do often. We have been very happy with the visits we have had here at Canalta St. Paul. The staff is always friendly and accommodating. With a few stays last year and this year, each room we have stayed in have all been clean and very comfortable. We have only been able to use the pool once during our first stay here last year, (due to COVID restrictions) and it was well maintained. One of the best parts is, it is pet friendly, which is a must for us as we travel with our furbaby! Another plus is the reasonable price! Cheers St. Paul Canalta, you always make us feel at home!

Room Tip: We love the ground floor as it has an outside door, which for pets is so helpful!

Stayed this weekend and wasn’t overly impressed. Had called to upgrade our reservation three weeks prior and upon arriving the change wasn’t made. Asked if we could still upgrade and the front desk clerk said he didn’t think so. Asked if we could get a cot to accommodate the change and he wouldn’t be able to look until 11pm because he was the only one there. Called down to front desk for extra blankets and again was told he was the only one there so we would have to come and get them. We had our one son sleep on two of the chairs in the room for the night. The next morning asked if we were able to upgrade or get a cot. The new front desk clerk said she wasn’t sure why they wouldn’t have done it the night before. I went out to my vehicle by the time I came back in, the cot was in our room. However, we did have to remove the mattress from the cot because the frame didn’t fit anywhere in our room. The cable tv went out that night as well. My only suggestion would be to have more staff upon check in enabling them to provide better customer service. The rooms were clean, the breakfast was good, the pool and water slide were great. Staff were nice but again I would suggest having additional staff to support the volume of customers.

Unfortunately, when you checked in we did not have any suites available to upgrade you to. We apologize that your entire family was not able to get a good nights rest. I have probably stayed here about 6 times in the past 2 years. There is not much (or any)competition for mid-range or higher-end hotels in St. Paul, so by default the Super 8 is the best you're going to get in the area. As for the hotel itself, I think it is of a typical Super 8 quality. Some things to note: older bedding, very small bathroom, old style tube TV (come on guys....this should be upgraded to flat screen), limited TV channels, and some damaged well-worn furniture. On the other hand, the service is top-notch and makes up for some of the deficiencies of the hard product. The staff have let me use the meeting rooms when booked at last minute. I have never used the pool facilities but see them being used all the time. I will stay here again, if only by default.

We stayed in Canalta St. Paul for a conference, the hotel staff were extremely friendly and accommodating. The manager Cindy was amazing in helping me book the rooms and conference space.
The hotel is clean, with spacious rooms and lots of amenities such as a pool with a water slide and a hot tub. There is a fitness room and a games room.
The conference room was spacious and had the necessary equipment to help connect our laptops to the projector.
I would host a conference here again.
