Checked in here on Sunday night. Check-in process was quick and efficient. Gentleman working the desk that night was very helpful and nice. Room was clean and comfortable. Wish it had a Fridge, and the toilet ran all night. Had to shut the door to keep it quiet enough for me to sleep. Hallways appeared as though they are doing some updating to the building. The free breakfast left a lot to be desired. Very basic with very minimal effort. Had two kinds of cereal to select from, bagels, bread, and some cheap pre-packaged muffins. My second morning there, I actually just skipped the free breakfast and went out to get something that was a little more desirable. All in all, the stay was worth the price I paid, but I wouldn’t pay any more. Location is great and convenient to many things.

Gregory G Thank You for your review and staying with us. Unfortunately, we do not have fridge and microwaves in every room. We are in the process of ordering them for every room. We are glad you enjoyed your stay despite the flaws. Thank You From Days Inn Great Lakes.

Stayed here for my son's Navy boot camp graduation. Was charged two different rates for two nights. Bathroom shower was missing grab handle and hotel left both holes open and still rented out the room. Free breakfast was not worth the time to wait for it, the only full size items was the bagels.

When we first arrived I noticed that the check-in area was very dirty and reminded me of going to my grandparents barn when I was a kid. I am not really picky about the outdated look so that didn't bother me. What did bother me was that we got to our no smoking room and there was smoke in the air. My wife suggested to open the window as I got to the window I found that it was open. The window didn't have a screen on it or any other way to protect people from coming in and out of the room from outside.

Here is the other things wrong:
Toilet tank was completely busted and the tank cover was missing.
The sheets were dirty and staind. We took the sheets off and the bed had holes and chunks out of the mattress. The box spring was rotten and had mice and bug holes in it.
My shoes stuck to the carpet.
No battery in the smoke alarm.
No clock
No ice bucket
dirty rag in the shower
Only small hand towels
No HBO or wireless internet
Free breakfast was dry cereal with no milk

I booked this hotel because I wanted a place close to the Naval Base. The pictures online are misleasing. It said that check in was at 3 pm, we arrived by cab at 2pm and they charged us $20 to check in by that time 40 minutes early. I have never experienced that before. Most reputable hotels will allow an early check in if the room is ready. There is a stale cigarette stench throughout the hallways. The free breakfast consists of waffles and rotten fruit. The staff had no interest in helping us during breakfast. The staff overall was unhelpful and not very friendly. The room itself was mediocre. The bathroom was in desperate meed of repair. There were holes in the wall above the tub, the tub itself was cracked. I will never stay here again. I suggest you do not either.

Dear Danyelle D, I’m sorry that you were not satisfied with tour stay here. I’m not sure what you mean by the pictures online are misleading. Check in time for the hotel is at 3pm. How every upon looking into the exact time you checked in was at 1:27pm ,not 2pm as you have stated, Also we are 1 hour behind Eastern time, there for you must not of update your clock to reflect the correct time. Also there are reputable hotels that will charge you an early check in fee it’s based of availability. The hotel is a non-smoking property also and we do use and ozone cleaner to remove any stench of smoke, throughout the hall and rooms. For breakfast we offer waffles, a selection of FRESH FRUIT not rotten ones, cereal, bagels, English muffins, granola bars, honey buns, and much more, we apologized that the breakfast wasn’t up to your standards. I apologize that the staff wasn’t helpful while you’re here I will address this issue with the whole entire staff. We also are going under renovation to make sure the property is up to date. The holes that you see above the tub is the faucet for the water to come out so you can fill the tub. We apologize that you were not satisfied with your stay. We invite you back once the hotel is finished with renovation and look forward serving you again in the future. If you have any additional questions feel free to contact us. Thank you, Mike D. We chose this hotel for it's proximity to the Navy graduation, price and free breakfast. We reserved the room a week in advanced based on the hotel claiming they only had a room with a queen bed but they would reserve they roll out bed for us. We called they day of travel to confirm or reservation again and to inform them we would be checking in late at night. After a 14 hour drive we arrived and was told the roll out bed we reserved was given away but they suddenly had a room with two beds available so we accepted it only to be offered a table fan because the AC unit was out!! After finding out about the broken AC I informed her I rather have my original room with a WORKING AC unit. I asked why the rolling bed was given away if I only agreed to reserve the single bed based on the reservation of the rolling bed for my daughter to sleep on. Jeana, the hotel clerk then decided to inform me rolling beds are first come first served and not reserved like I had been promised and the rolling bed would not have fit in our original room anyway because the room was very small. I asked for a discount since we were stuck with their mess and she informed us we already had a discount which was actually only our discount for being military. Then she informed us we also had the option to leave and find another hotel! Which was not an option since all the local hotels were fully booked due to the Navy Graduation. We ended up in our original room which was only big enough to fit a queen bed and dresser. The room smelled like mold the bathroom and dresser was dirty, no closet and the AC barely blew cool air! I was forced to make my daughter and make shift bed on the floor for the night. The hotel owner/manager and a maintenance man were in and out of a storage room near my room, slamming doors and taking parts from old AC units keeping us awake until after midnight. By 7am the breakfast option was toast, plain instant oatmeal or cereal. The only good thing about this hotel was them giving us a full refund for the second night when we decided to stay at another hotel the next day. We will NEVER stay at another Days Inn again if these are their standards.

thinkpos Thank You for staying with us and your review. However we have a limited number of roll-away beds. We do not have a roll-away for every room. They are upon request. Yes you can reserve one, but it is not guaranteed that you will get one, and we let you know. We never promised a roll-away. Yes, you guys were offered a double bed, because one had just came open. We never said that the a.c. was not working, but, we did let you guys know it cut off at times. We offered a fan until we were able to put the new a.c. in the room as we told your family, we were getting it fixed right away, due to it cutting off at certain points. We wanted to put your family in a double bed because the queen size room that you guys were assigned was going to be too small. We only tried to make you guys comfortable. There is never no reason to make your daughter sleep on the floor if you have had let us put you in the double queen room in the first place. We are here to help our guest have the best experience possible.
