I stayed here with my husband while partnering with Pathway Dominicana. The staff made our stay so accommodating. From the animation team to wait staff and housekeeping to the front desk, we were blessed and cared for the entirety of our trip. If you’re visiting Juan Dolio or San Pedro, I highly recommend staying at this Hodelpa location. You won’t be disappointed!

I was part of a Pathway Dominica group that stayed at Hodelpa Garden Suites for a week and we couldn't have had a better stay! There were many highlights but the staff are what make staying here so special. From the housekeeping staff to the entertainment/animation team-- everyone was so friendly, welcoming, and accommodating. They really went the extra mile to make us feel at home. I will definitely be staying here again next time!

We stayed at this hotel for a small conference with 12 people, and would highly recommend to anyone looking to host a meeting or conference. Ana is wonderful to work with in details of set up, coffee break, etc. The hotel rooms are all suites, with a large bedroom on one side and a sitting room on the other. We did have a deluxe room, which means it faces the pool - it was a nice view, but very loud on the nights when they had the shows, as they have them on the pool deck. If you are an early bedtime person, opt for the standard room. We found the food very tasty, with a broad selection of Dominican food along with international foods. I was pleasantly surprised at the wide selection over the course of the 5 day stay that we had. All of the staff are incredibly friendly and helpful. Only thing I can think of to even remotely mention in the negative is that the weekends are much fuller because Dominicans enjoy the resort - which caused a slow down in the wifi signal. But that wouldn't keep me from returning. We immensely enjoyed our stay and we would return.

Overnight stay on 8/16/21 - the room was booked on hotel.com for $80. The facility is nice, however the room I stayed in hadn’t been redecorated since 1990. The TVs were big and bulky, the pillows old and soft, and the cushion on the club chair stained. We ate dinner at their buffet which was mediocre. The staff was helpful in arranging a taxi for 6:00am transport to the airport, and I was also given a discount on the buffet (charged for 1 person when 2 adults and a child actually ate). I’d rate it a 3 out of 5. I didn’t like the buffet and my room was bad, but the staff was helpful and hotel pretty. If my stay had been longer I would have requested a room change and enjoyed the grounds.

Stayed in suite number 210 for 2 days following a cruise.
Positives - 1. Nice driveway and hotel entrance 2. Nice reception area 3. Warm and friendly greeting at reception. 4. Atrium bar area very comfortable. 5. Breakfast service staff very friendly and attentive. 6. Face coverings still worn by waiting staff even in Feb 2023 7. ironing facilities, coffee maker and microwave in suite
Negatives - 1. Swimming pool floor had lots of sunken debris 2. Pool bar not always attended 3. Music played at loud 'nightclub' levels after lunch even when just 3 or 4 guests present 4. Restaurant seating insufficient for the number of guests staying 5. Restaurant food of basic, OK quality but same ingredients every day 6. Hand sanitizer was available in restaurant but not used by guests 7. Swim shorts and vests allowed at evening dinner 8. My suite 210 did not look like any of the hotel website images 9. Cracked window pane in bedroom 10. What looked like bloodstains on curtain linings 11. No TV reception 12. Very small wardrobe with very old key operated safe 13. Loose hanging electrical wires in wardrobe 14. Lumpy pillows with no pillow protectors 15. Dingy looking bedding 16 Suite lounge area is internal with no window or TV 17. Free wifi but poor in-room reception and had to go to main reception
I had stayed at the sister hotel 'Hodelpa Emotions' prior to my cruise and definitely recommend that you pay a bit extra and stay at that beachside hotel which is of a far superior standard and quality

We spent 2 nights here to be close to San Pedro and the capital, since we were going to visit family. I'll start with what we liked. The suite was quite large and spacious, there was a sitting room with a foldout sofa and plenty of room. The bathroom and bedroom were spacious. The king bed was very comfortable with nice pillows. The room has a balcony with a nice view of the pool and grounds, also a nice place to hang swimsuits to dry. The restaurant was good and they had a decent variety of food choices, drinks and desserts. The staff were all very nice and helpful. The center of the main building is a large atrium, all under AC, with skylights all around. There are tables in the center and peripheries. Parking was close to the front entrance. The pool is quite large and has a swim up bar. Now for the stuff we didn't like. This property is quite dated and badly in need of a total renovation. It's showing it's wear and tear, not at all flattering. Since it's a suite, there are 2 AC units at opposite ends, but the one in the entrance sitting room area didn't work and there was no remote to turn it on. The drapes and blackout curtains in our room were jammed due to a broken slide mechanism. Part of the curtains hung open because they'd come off the hooks and were way too high to reach. The room safe was locked and wouldn't open. The property isn't close to the beach, you have to drive there or take their shuttle, which runs on a limited schedule. The bathroom fixtures were in bad shape and the sink faucet would shoot a hard stream that missed the sink and wet the floor if opened a bit too far. The shower cabinet had a water leak from worn caulking and poorly sealed glass walls. Water would pool all around the toilet and stall, making us mop up the mess every time we showered. They have a business center, but the 2 computer monitors wouldn't stay on. There's also no printer. If you want a comfortable, affordable place to hang out for 1-2 days and you don't care if it looks like it's seen far better days, then this hotel is fine. Don't expect too much and you won't be disappointed.

This was our second stay at Hodelpa and it felt like coming home to see family friends. The hotel was incredible in an of itself, but the staff is what makes it special. There is a lot of darkness, but especially the animation team brings lightness to all guests. Rosy, Eunice, Jasmine, Francisco, & Eddy male gusts feel celebrated, joyful and welcomed. They truly are a power team. You can see they love what they do. They remembered my name, and made me feel at home. The shows were so interactive and 100% excellent. Other staff that made our stay incredible were Maria, Josephina & Elena Marie. THANK YOU HODELPA!! We look forward to coming next year & seeing this Hodelpa family.

I was part of the Pathway Dominicana group that stayed at the Hodelpa Garden Suites last week while we were on a mission trip and I cannot say enough good about this hotel and it's staff. The staff was kind, helpful and personable - they made us feel welcome all while equipping us with everything we needed on our trip. The animation team really set our experience through the roof and knew us personally by the end of the week. The rooms were exceptionally clean & continued to be throughout the week. It was a safe and inviting environment perfect for couples, singles or families. I would without a doubt recommend this stay to ANYONE! Thank you Hodelpa!

This hotel was amazing as it gives you such family atmosphere. The animation team, including Rossy, was always catering to the guests with such a positive and friendly treatment. The hotel has been my favorite so far and I love to come back. The food was delicious and whatever you crave that is not on the buffet they get it for you. I recommend this 100%.
