Stayed for a week . Had room on 5th floor which meant our room was fairly quiet. The staff were friendly and very helpful. It is in a pleasant neighbohood with plenty of places to eat in the immediate area . Just round the corner from the Hospital Sant Pau, an Art Noveau gem and about 5 mins from the Sagrada Familia. Metro was nearby and the bustop just round the corner, so easy to explore the rest of the city. Would definately stay there again if visiting Barcelona

We stayed here because of the affordable rates and we would certainly go back. The hotel was in a quite neighborhood, small cafe's all around and very affordable especially for Barcelona. The hotel i very close to two metro stops, learn how to use the metro because it will save you significant time, effort, and money getting around the city. If you really wanted to, most everything is walk-able but it would take a minimum of 30 minutes to get to the most popular areas.

Rooms were clean and turned down daily, staff was very helpful and gave excellent directions. AC in every room is a nice touch as well. The only down side is that since it is near the hospital there are ambulances that go by.

I honestly cannot understand how this hotel has such a high rating. If you are looking for a nice hotel with good location, please do yourself a favour and stay away from this place! The location is really bad - directly on the very busy crossroads and far away from the city centre (about 3,5 km). The only thing that is nearby is Sagrada Familia but that is all.

If you get a room with window to the crossroads you will not sleep all night - the streets is so loud that even if the window is closed there are all noises from the street in your room. Fortunately, we were able to switch the room and we got one with the window to inner courtyard. The good thing is that we finally could sleep without noises from the street but we got room with the "view" to ugly fire escape and to the wall, so there was almost no sunlight in the room. In addition to this, there were iron bars in the window - just terrible.

Another problem are thin walls - you can hear almost anything from the neighbourh rooms and hallways.

Moreover in both rooms that we had, was a big piece of ice in the fridge and the fridge was not cooling as it is supposed to.

Next thing is shower - if you take a shower, you will flood the bathroom...

And even the price is not that cheap when you are dealing with all these things.

The only reason I give 2 stars is because of the receptionists as they were helpful and nice.

We spent three days in this hotel in April 2012. We were a group of three and we reserved one single and one double room. The single room was really small. The double room was a bit wider but still it was smaller than the average. We wanted to stay away from the crowds and noise and Hotel Medicis was a good choice in this context. We liked the breakfast and easy access to city center. I also did enjoy the balcony.

The hotel is really nice - rooms are great, the bathroom has a lot of space, the breakfast is very ok, the staff is pretty amazing, the location is very convenient (15 min to Sagrada, 2 min to bust stop, 5 min to metro station, 3 min to Hop on Hop off bus station). Stayed at the hotel for 2 nights with my mom, everything was pretty good. In our room the hair dryer wasn't working, so we called the reception and they brought my mom to another room to dry her hair (I know, not very pleasant, but it's a great solution), the day after they bought a hair dryer for us and they seemed genuinely sorry about the situation. The balcony is a great addition, if you want to stay more in the hotel, also in the room we had a kettle and some tea for the evening. Small details which really matters. Shout out to Mihaela, for helping us and being very helpful.

Hello, a standard twin room is translated into our hotel as a room with two separate beds. If you want a single bed you should clarify that you want double bed. Thank you very much, Best regards, Manager - Hotel Medicis
