The walls of this Alcazar has seen multiple events in centuries of history, such as the preparation of the War of Granada by the Catholic Monarchs and their first meeting with Christopher Columbus. Subsequently, it was adapted to have many uses, including headquarters of the Spanish Inquisition and prison. Its beautiful gardens are the favorite place by the locals and foreigners to celebrate the civil weddings in the city. Besides, huge Roman mosaics, and even Arab baths built by Alfonso XI for his lover Leonor de Guzmán, can be found inside this fortress. Tour: - Towers - Roman sarcophagus - Mosaics room - Hammam Doña Leonor - Patio Morisco - Gardens

      Highly recommended
Our guide was Jaime and he was fantastic. Funny, informative, engaging. We learned a lot about the history of the Mezquita and Cordoba and Andalusia. And, a beautiful building.

Don't Miss This Amazing Cathedral within a mosque - Made Better With An Expert Guide
We have never seen anything like this is all of our many travels. Inside this beautiful mosque, there is a huge surprise - a complete Catholic Cathedral. Unlike most religious sites, the Catholics didn't demolish the mosque and start over, instead they preserved 80% of this gorgeous mosque and built a cathedral within it. It was totally worth going and it was one of the highlights of our travels in Spain. We used My Top Tours, and our guide, Jamie, a native of Cordoba, was so friendly, knowledgeable and made the tour an absolute delight!

Poorly run organization, but good tour in the end
Tour, itself, was well organized, engaging and informative. If I was rating only on the tour, I would give a 5. However, the administrative part of the business is run terribly. The office does not respond to messages, whether by phone, WhatsApp, email or even Facebook. I reserved the tour a month in advance and wasn't even sure it would happen until the evening before. Furthermore, I didn't think I was going to be able to do it in English until I arrived and he informed me that it would be in English.

      it was fine
the tour was ok. our guide wasn’t good at storytelling or conveying the information interestingly. I’m not upset about the info, but it was annoying that we couldn’t turn in our headsets early to leave. we had to wait until the entire tour was over and give our headset back to our same guide otherwise we’d get charged. The last like 25 minutes we were just waiting

      Not informative
This tour was disappointing. The guide (Jose or Tema) explained very little about Jewish history of Cordoba or even Jewish life in more recent years. He spoke about himself, primarily. He lacked even the basic sense of history, such as the extent of the expulsion, forced conversion, ececutions of Jewish citizens. Too bad.

      Amazing private walking tour
We booked a private walking tour of Cordoba including inside of the Mesquita Cathedral. Our guide Genoveva was amazing, so friendly and knowledgeable. Cordoba is steeped in complicated religious and political history but she explained it all so well. She was patient with our questions and photo-taking and took us to all the highlights of this beautiful city in less than 4 hours. Thank you Genoveva for the amazing tour and Belen for assisting with the booking. Highly recommend Cordoba a Pie!

      A wonderful morning in Cordoba
Jose Maria (Chama?) gave an absolutely brilliant tour. His knowledge was comprehensive and encyclopaedic and he delivered it in a fun and interesting way. The Mosque Cathedral is of course the undoubted star of the show, a must-see.

      No show in low season.
They didn’t show up. When it was past time and we couldn’t find them I checked my email and they had canceled a hour or so before.

Great Tour with Wonderful Food & Restaurant Suggestions
David was a wonderful guide who was born in Cordoba and doing an art history major. He paced the tour well and answered all of our questions with thoughtfully and with some humor. At the part of the tour where he talked about local and traditional foods, he also gave us some restaurant suggestions which turned out well (example was Casa Miguelito - try their "killer" fried calamari dish). It was a very warm day so that the evening tour was more comfortable.

      Unequivocally the BEST Experience!
This was my third time visiting the Mezquita with a tour guide. Our tour guide was Jesus Maria and he was outstanding! He not only was a local, he was a historian. His tour was interesting and informative. He was able to present the information in an engaging manner. It was the best tour of the massive site that I have taken and I thoroughly enjoyed every minute. Thank you Jesus Maria!

      Cordoba Evening Tour with Raphael
Had a great tour with Raphael in Cordoba. His personality and enthusiasm are infectious! He showed us things and told us the history on places we may have never seen on our own. Very enjoyable time and the city is beautiful at night!

It wasn’t worth the money. Guid was good but there wasn’t much to show in the Alchazr. We started from one main entrance of it and funahws in another that was it.

Despite paying in advance for an English speaking tour, no English speaking tour guide was available. THe only positive is that a refund was promptly issued. Wasted some of my time in Cordoba unfortunately.

The guide booked didn’t turn up. I was told by other guides at the Alcazar that this was probably because their English speaking guide wasn’t available on the day. The company made no effort to contact me, and didn’t answer my request for a refund. I had the previous day booked a separate tour with them which they cancelled, providing a refund only after Getyourguide intervened on my behalf. It appears to be basically a scam.

This morning we visited the Alcazar of the Christian Kings of Cordoba. We had a particularly fascinating guide, Estefania, who was able to convey to us with kindness and professionalism her great knowledge and love of her city.
