July 26: NYU VPN Upgrade to Standard NYU Login and MFA
Starting July 26, 2024, protecting your off-campus internet connection with NYU VPN will get easier and even more secure. When you use Cisco AnyConnect to connect, your browser will open to the familiar NYU Login page and Duo prompt with all NYU MFA options available, including TouchID. Once you’re connected, you won’t have to log in again to use most NYU IT services in that browser. Learn more.

Secure Access from Off-campus

NYU Virtual Private Network (VPN) provides secure access to NYU services when you’re working or studying off-campus. Use VPN if you’re using public Wi-Fi or an unsecured internet connection, traveling, or working from home. NYU VPN uses the Cisco AnyConnect software client to provide secure, password-protected access to NYU's campus network (NYU-NET) from an off-campus location.

Most remote work can be done without using the NYU VPN service. However, when you’re off-campus you may need to use VPN to access some services such as NYUHome, SailPoint, Wi-Fi Guest Portal, Tuition Remission, financial systems, UDW+, and a few other services.

Note that Multi-Factor Authentication (Duo) is required when connecting to VPN and the process is a little different than it is for other NYU services.
