Last night, I enjoyed a great fireside chat moderated by Jill Scalamandre at CEW Newsmaker Event. Together, we talked about my 30-year journey within L'Oréal Groupe and how I’ve seen the beauty industry evolve. We discussed what makes L’Oréal culture so unique, our passion for beauty, our entrepreneurial and challenging spirit, our creativity at the heart… It was, of course, a discussion about our people, about the fact that difference in business is first and foremost made by the people. And last but not least, we also had a thoughtful conversation about Beauty Tech and how this full ecosystem of technologies is a key enabler for our business, giving us the opportunity to explore new frontiers of beauty to better meet our consumer needs and aspirations. I am very honored to take on today this new role and to serve as the Board Chair for the Personal Care Products Council. PCPC plays such a vital role in the advocacy and advancement of the beauty and personal care industry. Our Group is off to a very good start to the year, reporting a +9.4% like-for-like growth and outperforming in a worldwide beauty market that remained dynamic. In North America, we achieved a robust performance of +12.3% like-for-like, driven by strong online momentum, successful innovation, and a significant value contribution across all Divisions. This week, thousands of employees tuned in virtually, and groups gathered in person from New York to LA to Puerto Rico, to share in our first Quarterly Business Review of the year. It was a great moment to celebrate our 2023 achievements and to kick off the year by sharing our key strategic highlights for 2024. This QBR was dedicated to the first pillar of our US strategic frame: “Our People”. We had the opportunity to listen to some very inspiring career path testimonials, and we also talked about transformation because it’s so crucial for us to perform while transforming. I'm feeling immense pride for the work of our teams who prepared two exciting marketing campaigns around the Big Game -- for the first time in L'Oréal's history. They succeeded in reinventing today’s marketing and storytelling in such an unexpected way, totally in tune with the times. #CeraVe generated an amazing social media buzz featuring #MichaelCera, connecting to the everyday consumer while relying on the expertise of a medicalized skincare brand. Our L'Oréal Group has published today record results with a third consecutive year of double-digit growth and crossed the 40Bn euros for the first time it its history. In North America, our sales advanced strongly in 2023 with +11.8% like-for-like and +9.7% reported and we outperformed a dynamic market, driven by valorizing innovations and channel optimization. 2023 was another milestone year for us as we passed the 11Bn euros mark in revenue! Each of our Divisions grew, led by Dermatological Beauty and L’Oréal Luxe. I wanted to thank all our North American teams who contributed individually and collectively to this strong performance. I’m thrilled to share that our group has received a triple A by CDP - a renowned non-profit organization, considered as the gold standard in environmental reporting - and that we are the sole company to achieve this distinction for the 8th consecutive year. It’s a very valuable recognition of our long-standing commitment and concrete engagement towards sustainability in three main dimensions: addressing climate change, protecting forests and ensuring water sustainability.   Here in the U.S., we are committed to future-proofing our business by building resilience for people and the planet.
