I’m thrilled to share that our group has received a triple A by CDP - a renowned non-profit organization, considered as the gold standard in environmental reporting - and that we are the sole company to achieve this distinction for the 8th consecutive year. It’s a very valuable recognition of our long-standing commitment and concrete engagement towards sustainability in three main dimensions: addressing climate change, protecting forests and ensuring water sustainability. Here in the U.S., we are committed to future-proofing our business by building resilience for people and the planet. And we are making progress: our new R&I Center in New Jersey and L’Oréal West Coast office in California are now 100% powered by renewable energy, and more to come! So, let’s celebrate what we have already achieved concretely and keep going on our L’Oréal for the Future 2030 commitments. #CreateTheBeautyThatMovesTheWorld #L4TF #CDPAList

When we say that 2023 is the "year of opportunity"... When we emphasise that we not only care about the environment but want to actively participate in preserving it... When we claim that our business network is not only global but one that connects us - and you - with top-tier entities... When we declare that "Together We Are Shaping The Future"... It's a monumental feat as we join with over 100 renowned business entities with a view to treating with the issue of plastic pollution, creating awareness, educating the public and collaborating, etc. These business entities include: • 3M • Ikea • Coco Cola • L'oreal • Aldi • Pepsico • Nestle • H&M Group • Walmart As the world experiences certain environmental and ecological challenges, we remain committed to doing our part to secure collective success of varying degrees. If fulfilment was defined by the application of your own unique skills to something you feel passionate about - what would your life look like?
I wonder what Paul Polman makes of this? Less than 5 years after his departure, the business that led the global sustainability movement has announced a U-turn on its ESG strategy. Unceremoniously binning some key sustainability targets. We have soaked up the Greenwash and Spin like a dirty sock in a washing machine For many, this is a moment to weep. But for me, it is a moment to celebrate. Why? Because it highlights that our system is broken. The reality is: ❌Unilever have been too slow to act ❌Unilever have been too cautious in acting at scale ❌Unilever haven’t had the courage to say to the markets “F**k you and your focus on short term profits irrespective of the cost to the planet” Most Global Businesses have watched from the sidelines, cherrypicking sustainability initiatives that suggest to the outside world that they are taking the issue seriously; whilst most CSO’s will tell you they are not. Being a Chief Sustainability Officer is, in most organisations, a thankless task. We cannot wait for politics and big business to save us… we need every SME business to take the lead and drive the agenda forward in a million communities around the world. The time to act was 50 years ago, but profits first and the earth second has been the only choice by all, with no exclusions, without being able to cover fixed obligations, the entirety of any positive impact initiative would be dead before it started. The EPR came giving a semblance to reprieve to this end and has allowed some amount of revenue to go towards projects that would have remained purely ideas without, but so much more is needed to completely shift the problems we face to the solutions that are needed. We have the technology, we have the secondary resources, we have the knowledge, but we lack the ability to change collectively due to lobbyists that favour profit/power over the well-being of the masses and Earth at large.

In 2023, we continued to make strides in our sustainability efforts. Our most important contribution to sustainable development lies in supporting the health of people, impacting over 8 million individuals worldwide every day.🌍 Lundbeck collaborated with international and local advocacy groups to raise awareness about neurological diseases. Their efforts included supporting healthcare professionals, combating stigma, and empowering people living with these conditions. In 2023, we made a new agreement with the Red Cross to support mental health and psychosocial services in Ukraine in the coming years. Eight out of ten of our 2023 sustainability targets have been achieved or are on track. For example, we successfully increased the share of women in senior management. While our scope 3 emissions increased due to business growth, we achieved a decoupling of growth and scope 3 emissions. Additionally, we signed more than 50 suppliers up for climate commitments. To further reduce our carbon footprint, we adopted solar energy sources at production sites and secured commitments from over 50 suppliers to use renewable electricity. Furthermore, Lundbeck heavily invested in chemical recycling, benefiting both the climate and the environment. These efforts reflect Lundbeck’s commitment to sustainability, health, and a better future for all. You can find more information about these and other initiatives in our 2023 Sustainability Report 👇 https://lnkd.in/gizqug9 #SustainabilityReport #FullYearResults #ESG

Helping aspiring & recertifying B Corps navigate the assessment process 📈 Lover of nattering & the great outdoors 🌿
It was so incredibly inspiring to attend SUSTAINABILITY LIVE this week. It was PACKED with incredible people working relentlessly to move away from 'business as usual', intentionally, bravely, disrupting in order to create a better business world for future generations. Here are 3 key points from my initial reflection: Firstly Fabrice Beaulieu of Reckitt made it clear that customers want brands to make society better. If your brand does not do this you will be obsolete. Secondly Rhian Kelly from National Grid spoke about how the vast majority of people want to work for companies with strong sustainability goals. Thirdly Schneider Electric's Katie Mills said that 80% of the graduates that apply to Schenider do so because of their sustainability strategy. This is where B Corp really comes into it's own. If your businesses is committed to doing good, you need to be able to prove it. To your customers, to your employees, to all your stakeholders. B Corp certification proves you are not greenwashing, that you are not involved in just some clever marketing or are only prepared to show the good bits of the business. Get in touch if you would like to learn more, about B Corp in general or about how I can help you on your journey to certification. Let's work together to create a safe, fair world. It isn't too late, yet. #bcorp #bcorpcertified #betterbusiness #sustainablebusiness #ethicalbusiness #noplanetb #thetimeisnow

🌍 Delighted to have attended the ChangeNOW Summit in Paris, dedicated to solutions and innovations for our planet. It was truly inspiring to engage with so many passionate individuals on the crucial environmental objectives that we all have to protect the planet. 🎯 On the road to 2050, #businesses must strengthen the implementation of carbon reduction strategies to address emissions across all scopes. 🌱 A special shoutout to the panelists Luiz Fernando do Amaral, Cyril Garcia, Cléa Martinet, and Antoine Vanlaeys for their insightful speeches during the conference "Carbon Reduction: From Strategies To Concrete Action". 🗣️ As @Luiz said, "You don't manage what you don't measure." The first step of the challenge is to collect data on our carbon footprint. 🤝Thank you Luiz Fernando do Amaral for highlighting Unilever as a good example of a company that has standardized measurement and collaborates closely with other companies to gather data and reduce Scope 3 emissions within the supply chain. 👉 https://lnkd.in/ejp4qbrb Rebecca Marmot, Nicolas Liabeuf, Sophie Jayet-Creusot #ChangeNow2024 #Sustainability #Carbonfootprint #Decarbonization #CSR #Unilever #Sdgs

Being a good #corporatecitizen is central to who we are and how our company operates. As a result of strong #ESG performance among the 1,000 largest U.S. public companies, Berry was included in 3BL's ranking of the 100 Best Corporate Citizens of 2023! This is the second year our company has been included, making significant gains from 2022 by moving from an overall ranking of 97 to 60. In addition to our progress reducing greenhouse gas emissions, Berry received recognition for our efforts to improve #corporategovernance, increase #transparency and performance of the results of annual #employeeengagement surveys, and drive #circularity by collaborating across the plastics value chain.
