Thank you to WSFS Bank and the WSFS Cares Foundation for partnering with VFES during WSFS’ Second Annual “We Stand For Service Day” on June 12. Five members of the WSFS Devon branch came to VFES to help beautify the campus by weeding and mulching. Across PA, NJ, and DE, nearly 1,500 WSFS Associates volunteered at more than 130 nonprofits in support of this event. “We have been fortunate to have worked with WSFS for many years, in various dimensions, but service, in particular, connects very well with our mission. We were thrilled for the opportunity to connect with WSFS in this new way. All members of the WSFS team immediately got to work and were eager to learn more about VFES through stories about our students and participants shared over weeding and raking. We couldn’t be more grateful for our partnership,” shared Amy Zylberman, Assistant Director of Development and Major Gifts. Both WSFS and the WSFS Cares Foundation has been a strong partner and supporter of VFES and of our Customized Workforce Solutions program for years and we could not be more grateful. Thank you to Joseph Orsatti and his team at WSFS Devon for a tremendously fun afternoon that helped VFES shine.

Today, Laura Sibbald, the newly appointed Executive Director of Neurodiversity Employment Network (NEN), visited VFES to discuss potential collaborative opportunities. NEN is an invaluable partner dedicated to connecting and promoting organizations and individuals around neurodivergent employment. Laura met with Sheba Simms, Director of Marketing and Communications, and Amy Zylberman, Assistant Director of Development and Major Gifts, and also connected with the leads of VFES’ Customized Workforce Solutions (Christine Coughenour, Director of Adult and Recreation Services) and Vanguard’s Community-Based Vocational Training programs (Donna Mazzella, Vocational and Transition Coordinator). We look forward to future collaboration that will benefit our students and adult participants and amplify our mission further in Greater Philadelphia.
