On July 10th, we had the honor of attending the Ribbon Cutting Ceremony for the Nursing and Health Sciences Simulation Center at Albany State University. As the design lead and prime architect, we were privileged to get an early look at the completed building site, and witnessing ASU’s vision come to fruition was truly inspiring. ASU's objective was to bolster healthcare professions in the region. We were entrusted with creating an innovative, state-of-the-art simulation center aimed at advancing nursing and allied health in Southwest Georgia. This facility includes simulation labs (low, med, and hi-fidelity manikins), control rooms, and observation spaces, debriefing space, related hospital simulation spaces, faculty and staff work areas, and building service spaces. It was a pleasure to connect with both new acquaintances and familiar faces, including Dr. Sonny Perdue, Dr. Lawrence (Larry) Drake II, PhD, MBA, MS, ACC, and Dr. Sarah Brinson. Great work to the entire team! Kimberly Robidoux, LEED AP BD+C: Programmer/Planner Jason Sims: Project Architect Bobby A. How did you celebrate #PrideMonth this year? At SLAM, we marked the occasion with our grand fourth annual Proud to be SLAM #design competition. Building on the creativity of past winners, we transformed their winning designs into vibrant stickers, stylish t-shirts, trendy tumblers—and for a refreshing twist, this year's addition: sleek coasters. As always, we dedicated all proceeds from these commemorative items to the Human Rights Campaign, a vital organization offering crisis intervention and suicide prevention services to LGBTQIA+ youth. It's our way of not just celebrating Pride, but actively supporting and uplifting the community. Join us in making a difference, one design at a time.

Our Sports Architecture team has opened three exhilarating multi-purpose arenas from 2022 to 2024, setting a new standard in sports arena design. Explore the essential principles behind our arena designs and discover the five key considerations for crafting unforgettable fan experiences in our latest article, "From the Door to the Floor" on our website. Vagts Jacob, our Sports Designer, highlights, “Regardless of athletic conference or project budget, it’s important to understand the fan’s perspective attending an event at the arena. After spaces that support student-athlete’s performance, the fan experience is vital to the success of a project. We view the design from a fan’s perspective to make certain the experience is spectacular from the door, all the way to the event floor.” Read more: https://bit.ly/4eytYWn
