Yesterday, we proudly sponsored an ISPE event at the Museum of African American History (MAAH) in Boston to commemorate #Juneteenth. This museum serves as a poignant tribute to the profound impact of Black history, highlighting narratives that have deeply influenced American history during the 18th and 19th centuries. How did you honor Juneteenth?

As a publisher grounded in #africanhistory #africanleaders African-Centered research, history, Black methods and research paradigms like #Afrocentricity, we celebrate the notion of humanity in Being Human Being, by Dr. Molefi Kete Asante and Dr Nah Dove. Through time, attitudes, ideas and ideology changes. It is human to err but takes integrity and character to grow and reassess. It is human to misstep, and get hurt, but it is transparency and ethical dignity that allows for forgiveness and change. Universal Write Publications and our founder Dr. Ayo Sekai, Ph.D. is grounded in humanity, ally-ship, collaboration and networking, so that despite, race, ethnicity, gender, and beyond the color line, we can see the beauty that lies not just in who we are as individuals, but how strong we are as human beings. Celebrate Dr. Asante's 100th books of scholarship, research, and interdisciplinary impact, coauthored by Dr Nah Dove, the brilliant womanist and education scholar at https://lnkd.in/dGu6GC3H

While in high school, I found history a 'boring' subject! Studying #history appeared to be more about memorizing a list of facts and dates! It never occurred to me that history required interpretation and analysis of information around subjects! I never saw how history could help us connect events together, e.g., what, in history, contributed to what, and why they were important. Or, how history was packed in incredible, real-life stories. I never appreciated how knowledge of our history could help us paint a detailed picture of where we stand today, what progress looks like, or even where we're going. Today, I visited the National Museum of African American History and Culture #Blacksonian and got a real taste of the richness and vivid realm of African American experience/history, and I learnt many vital lessons. For instance, the pillars upon which different #civilization were built; how our ancestors interacted with the larger historical changes, especially during the colonial era; how history helps to provide us with a sense of identity; and, of course, how history helps us to understand the present day issues. I feel inspired by the stories of brilliant people and their heroic acts that have changed the history of black people. #blackhistory #afrofuturism #culturaldiversity #historymatters

For #BlackHistoryMonth, we are reflecting on how Black history paves the way to a sustainable future. A lot of the techniques and methods we use today would not be available to us if it weren't for the work of Black pioneers like those mentioned in this short reel below.
