Earlier this month, we had the opportunity to welcome our new class of interns! Last week, we kicked off our summer events with the Ultimate Driving Experience at Citi Field where our interns interacted with the vehicles hands on – they were able to get behind the wheel of the all-new 5 Series on the autocross track, test drive BMW vehicles on a street caravan with a professional BMW driving instructor, and learn all about new vehicle innovations and technologies. It was a great way to get the summer started and we are excited for future events! Today, on June 19th, we commemorate Juneteenth National Independence Day. Join us in honoring the significance of this day in American history, reflecting on the struggles and triumphs of African Americans in the pursuit of equality and justice, and recognizing their invaluable contributions both past and present.   In observance of Juneteenth, our Black Excellence Employee Resource Group (ERG) organized a thought-provoking event at our Columbus, Ohio office. Last week we hosted our special guest, Jeremy Tran, Executive Director, COO, and Co-Founder of Gold House, a leading cultural ecosystem that unites, invests in, and champions Asian Pacific creators and companies. Jeremy joined us at BMW Bank in Utah during our Asian American, Native Hawaiian & Pacific Islander Heritage Month Celebration to discuss the multifaceted and diverse demographics of the Asian Pacific community.   We left this discussion inspired and determined to do our part in ensuring these stories are shared not only during AANHPI Month but every day. We were honored to host a special Round Table Talk on Wednesday, May 1, in celebration of Military Appreciation Month at BMW Group U.S in partnership with our Veterans Network ERG. We were privileged to have award-winning TV producer, director, artist, and professor, Steve Alpert, join us. Steve's commitment to the military and veteran community shines through his volunteerism, charitable contributions, and incredible artwork honoring those who serve in the U.S. Armed Forces. During the event, Steve presented two military-inspired art pieces to our Ohio and Woodcliff Lake offices. He also shared his philanthropic journey within the veteran community, along with the inspiration behind his remarkable creations. Thank you, Steve, for your impactful contributions and for uplifting our military community through your art and advocacy.
