AWC's Director of Business Development, Buck Smoak, proudly honored his sister Kim Smoak with a scholarship in her name at the North Florida School of Special Education's graduation. Kim's life changed how people with intellectual differences were perceived, breaking boundaries and achieving many accomplishments. Her legacy continues through this scholarship, which aids students in athletics or vocational training. 40% of NFSSE's 230 students receive financial aid, making these funds crucial in supporting students' tuition. With deep ties to NFSSE through our employees and their families, this scholarship holds special significance for AWC. Today is #NationalPTSDAwarenessDay. According to PTSD United, 20% of adults in the U.S. who have experienced trauma suffer from PTSD, emphasizing the need for awareness and stigma elimination. Auld & White Constructors is honored to partner with K9s For Warriors, which provides highly trained service dogs to veterans suffering from PTSD, traumatic brain injury, and other military trauma. This program pairs rescue dogs with veterans, fostering healing and recovery through an unwavering bond. It empowers veterans to live lives of dignity and independence and find renewed enjoyment for life. JUNE UPDATE | Bishop Kenny High School - Athletic Training Center Auld & White Constructors is progressing on construction at Bishop Kenny High School's new athletic training center. The south masonry wall is being erected, the west stairwell is taking shape, and the north edge, which will house the spirit shop, is also going vertical. We're excited to partner with BKHS to transform their vision into a state-of-the-art athletic training center. Congratulations to our partner LS3P ASSOCIATES LTD. for being featured in Arbus Magazine’s 28th Annual Architectural Design and Build Projects for 2024 with the City of Jacksonville’s Fire Station No. 10. The Riverside area Fire Station is one of the busiest in Jacksonville and was recognized as ABC’s Excellence in Construction Project of the Year. The facility includes advanced living and administrative spaces and provides state-of-the-art support for local firefighters. JUNE UPDATE | Nassau County Fire Station No. 10 - Auld & White Constructors is making significant progress on Fire Station No. 10, a new 3-bay fire station on Edwards Road in Yulee. The foundation was poured, trusses were flown, and we recently celebrated the topping-off with a hardhat tour of the future facilities. Once completed, Fire Station No. 10 will feature a range of facilities for its firefighters, including administrative offices, living quarters, a day room, and a bunk room. The station will also have a locker room, kitchen, dining area, dispatch and communication rooms, and several other shared spaces. The newly opened 3,000-square-foot Murabella branch is designed to enhance member services with a modern retail experience. It features a full-service drive-thru, two ATMs, and Community First’s signature tower feature. We're also excited to begin construction on the Beachwalk Branch, set to open in early 2025. This branch will offer a full-service lobby, drive-thru, and upgraded digital technologies, serving the growing needs of St. Johns County residents. The two-story layout features an ambulatory surgical center and seven procedure rooms with cutting-edge equipment on the first floor and thirty-two medical office exam rooms on the second floor.
