There are markets every few blocks in Bangkok - they are literally everywhere. Some, like this one, are purpose built while others are like pop-up markets that may only last a few days or weeks at a time
One of the regulars at the market. I ran into Gil twice that day, taking two different sets of pictures, this is the second one with the shadow. Didn’t notice the shadow at first, because I was using a different lens, but as soon as I saw the shadow, I used a wider angle lens.
The fact that everyone at the market, black and white, rich and poor, benefits from being there is a powerful incentive for people to forget their differences and get along. In the process, racial tensions are reduced, as a wide variety of people are able to observe each other close up and see how foolish stereotypes and hatred are.

Yorkshire is vast and very rural, mostly dotted with sheep and lams.
And there are quite a number of auctions!

Although there is no market today I can’t deny that this is an impressive structure. When the market is on you don’t notice this temple of retail because naturally your attention is elsewhere. So I’m pleased to upload this picture which shows what a magnificent temple of consumerism it is.
