Iced Lake Constance

Winter ice painting on the autumn leave

One more of the old frozen lake photos of the Himmelmoor. Ice is a fascinating thing and has so many faces...

Multi-flavor ice creams and chocolate ice cream macarons, a perfect combination!!

Somewhere in Porsanger a beautiful day in November. Not too cold, only a few degrees below zero. Today we have -16. Not too happy about that...

Ice fisherman left some fish on the ice and the two of them were arguing over who gets it. The Raven eventually left. Taken 147 Meters away against the bright sunlight. Front yard Isle Lake

Saw these ice pieces on a frozen fountain in the city and found it looked really amazing!

Seen at Upper Falls, Johnston Canyon, Alberta Canada

This picture was taken at Johnston Canyon Upper Falls near Banff. I happened to find a group of ice climbers practicing their skills, ice climbing the thick masses of frozen waters of the Upper Falls. The frozen waterfalls provided a great opportunity for the ice climbers to enjoy their sport as they are a breathtaking 30-meter-high climb. Climbers must constantly assess the ice formations which are affected by weather conditions while climbing and remaining protected through the use of protective gear.

The beautiful shades of blue and mauve shone through the clear ice as the ice formations at the edge of the cliffs were better lit by sunlight.

Fox River ice fisherman, Fox River at De Pere, Wisconsin.

A father/son outing - the fisherman in the bg to the left of the frame is this gentleman's son.

The lack of snow cover required boot cleats to walk safely on the ice.

Ice cubes on a glass for MacroMondays : Vowel.

Size ok ;-)

For this picture I put a light ,with coloured paper, behind a glass plenty of ice cubes. Some limonade to complete the glass.

Ice Cream Drunk

After consuming mass quantities of butter pecan ice cream at the Franklin Fountain, I found myself wandering on Chestnut Street near Letitia Street.

Apparently, I took this picture.

This may not have been the first time I did something like this:

After taking a ridiculous monster truck from the Jökulsárlón Glacier Lagoon, we climbed over the Vatnajökull Glacier (the largest glacier in Europe) and down into these breathtaking ice caves.

Thanks for your visit and comments I appreciate that very much

In the water by Cascade Falls. We’ve seen them before on Lake Michigan but never on a river.

This is a close-up photo of ice in a shallow channel of the river.

After playing around freezing things in ice I ended up with this gallery of Ice Sculptures in the snow. The one on the left is an icicle that had formed during the really cold weather.

the macromondays group's theme for today, 8/20, is multicolored and this is probably going to be my choice for posting because i loved the pastels, which i deepened/enhanced when post processing. maybe a little too subtle for many but i do like it a lot. also liked the holographic sequins (see the first comment box), which are probably a closer-in macro but today i am not dithering ~grin~

later, when i have sufficient light, i will post a picture of the whole bowl. (btb, this was a creative suggestion by my DD)

(btb2, the start-shaped ice cube is one and a half inches tall, so it and the dish are about 2 inches top to bottom, two and a half side to side)
