Ice formation in Jökulsárlón

I went to the garden when I saw the signs of the sun in this morning. I planned to spend here just some minutes. I didn't get too far: next to the house I found a painted board with some ice droplets. I spent with these droplets about 15-20 minutes and I took about 40-50 photos :) The time flyies fast when you find a great theme :)

I moved the board here and there, I was playing with the settings of the camera, I searched for the sunlight. The background is dry reed leaf. This is one of my favorite photos from this series.

8-1-15 After traveling thru a portion of Prince Christian Sound in Southern Greenland aboard the MS Veendam. The Veendam had to travel through a massive ice field. The ship was only able to travel 1 to 5 knots going through the ice. Many times using the ships thrusters to move the ice away from the ship.

We watched many cross the ice bridge going back and forth to Mackinac Island Sunday sitting in the marina parking lot. These had little pull sleds behind their snowmobiles.

Hard to believe that last month we had really cold temperatures and even River Weser was covered with crushed ice. Vennebeck, Ostwestfalen, Germany

North side of Glen Coe mountains from Pap of Glencoe ascent. Started ascending by moonlight and got as high as I could before the ice got too much for normal hiking gear.

falling temperatures have produced some good ice along my home creek

I took this shot underneath the Natural Bridge formation in Yoho National Park. We were there at just the right time where the ice was firm enough to walk into the cave but it wasn't totally frozen over yet. It's amazing how beautiful an ice cathedral like this can be!

An ice cube with tiny flowers in it.

This is 4 cm.

Happy Macro Monday.

Feel like this 2 weeks ago, ice is now gone. snow is not all melted few more weeks...

It's going to be an interesting week here at Keefer Lake. It will be well above zero during the day and then plummeting below zero again at night. These are ideal conditions for ice fog, both in the morning and potentially in the evening as well ... this photo was taken last year under similar conditions. For my friends who don't know 'ice fog' ... it is a wondrous phenomena and you should put 'experiencing' it on your 'bucket list.'
