She started as a Housekeeping Departmental Trainer and, through dedication and hard work, progressed to Office Administrator. After excelling in this role, she was promoted to Housekeeping Office Manager, and almost two years later, she advanced to her current position as Assistant Executive Housekeeper. Corina attributes her success to the support and guidance she received from her managers and the company’s strong focus on employee development. The Dorchester Collection’s "We Care" philosophy has significantly impacted Corina's experience as an employee. This warm and positive culture provides a sense of belonging and creates an unparalleled work environment. Corina feels her growth is encouraged, supported, and valued as an individual. Over her nearly six years with the UK hotels, Susannah has experienced significant growth and evolution in her role. Transitioning from a 20-year tenure at her previous company, she initially focused on direct sales for the North American leisure market. However, as the team evolved, she embraced the opportunity to lead the proactive sales team, finding the perfect balance between direct sales and team management. Among Susannah’s many achievements, one project stands out: her role as the pre-opening Director of Sales & Marketing for a new country retreat hotel. As the first employee hired for this ambitious project, she transformed three dilapidated buildings into a thriving hotel, marking a decade of professional challenge and reward. Lights, Camera, Action!   Introducing our next Legend under the Spotlight, Sally Pedder!   Sally joined The Dorchester in 2010 as the Spa Manager of The Dorchester Spa, bringing with her a wealth of experience and a passion for hospitality. From the moment she arrived for her interview, Sally knew she had found a special place. She felt like a movie star, warmly welcomed by a team that truly enjoys looking after people. The allure of being part of such a legendary institution was irresistible to her.   In 2010, Sally's journey with us began as Spa Manager, but her dedication and excellence quickly saw her role evolve. As a member of the pre-opening team for The Spa at 45 Park Lane, Sally was promoted to Spa Director, overseeing both The Dorchester Spa and 45 Park Lane. Her days are filled with diverse challenges and opportunities, ensuring no two days are ever the same.   Sally has achieved numerous accolades during her time with us, but one of her proudest moments was being awarded Leader of the Year at The Dorchester, following her win of the Hotel Cateys award for Spa Professional of the Year in 2019. These accomplishments reflect her commitment to excellence and her ability to inspire and develop her team to be the best they can be.   The company culture at The Dorchester and 45 Park Lane has been a significant influence on Sally's experience. She was impressed by the alignment of the company values with her own life principles from the very beginning. As a manager, she finds these values foundational to everything the team does for both guests and colleagues. It is not just about lip service; it is how we live and work.   Looking ahead, Sally aspires to continue striving to be the best she can be in her role and for her team, embracing lifelong learning from the many teachers she encounters in life. She finds immense joy in the people she works with, considering them her work family. Seeing their development through coaching and mentoring has been deeply rewarding.   Sally's advice to anyone starting out in the department is to stay committed. "Believe in yourself, listen to advice, and always know that we have got you," she says.
