Another successful CQ event! On the 18th-20th June, we hosted an impactful CQ Certification and Train-the-Trainer programme in the heart of London. This event not only provided valuable insights into Cultural Intelligence but also brought together a community of professionals dedicated to enhancing their understanding and skills in CQ. We were thrilled to witness rich conversations and meaningful exchanges among participants from diverse sectors and experiences. The enthusiasm and engagement from everyone present were truly inspiring. A big thank you to all the participants for their active involvement and to our team for making this event a success. We look forward to continuing this journey and creating more opportunities for learning and growth. Interested in joining the next cohort or learning more about our training? Reach out to Polly Collingridge, Emily Dorschler or Martina Uroye. We are happy to talk all things CQ! #CulturalIntelligence #ProfessionalDevelopment #CQTraining #InPersonTraining

  • We are all about variety! Andrej Juriga is one of our outstanding freelance master facilitators, and it has been a pleasure working with him on this event. We believe that just as each client is unique, so each offering we provide will be unique, tailored to their needs, challenges and expectations. And if an offsite event takes a UK-based client to Sweden, so we shall follow! Whatever your CQ needs, and however you see our work complementing or enhancing your business, we would love to speak with you. And you never know, it could be Andrej coming to your office! #CQSolutions #CQinSweden #CulturalIntelligence #CompanyCulture #VisionAndMission #FacilitatingChange

Sweden is my final destination before the summer break. As I'm wandering the streets of Stockholm, I'm grounding myself before delivering another Cultural Intelligence workshop, this time for the Northern European leadership team of a global FMCG company. Each group is different. Each team has their own way of doing things, their way of conveying messages, expressing disagreement, managing projects, and leading people. Each group I meet deals with different challenges driven by their context. Each team is unpredictable which makes my job very exciting and never boring. I can't wait to hear this team's perspectives on: • What is our leadership team's culture? • What concrete behaviors show our culture? • Is our team's culture fully aligned with the company culture? • Is there a difference between how we lead and how our company expects us to lead? If so, how do we reconcile? • What impact do we create through our team culture? Each company I work with is like a living book, and each team I meet in my workshops is like one chapter of that book. I'm very curious about the chapter I'm about to read in this beautiful city. #culturalintelligence ##diversityandinclusion

Are you wondering if you should take our Cultural Intelligence Certification programme? Here are some reasons why others have done it: 👉 They work in DEI but feel there’s something missing needed to connect the dots of different approaches and initiatives – something that won’t put people on the defensive. 👉They want to help an increasingly diverse and international set of employees get on with each other better, as well as fit into the company culture – and they’re wondering if this is even possible. 👉They want a framework and assessment tool that goes beyond cultural awareness to help people understand why and how to adapt their behaviour when working in a global team or interacting with someone from another culture. 👉They want to get away from cultural stereotypes to measure individual behavioural preferences and the impact these have within a team 👉They want to train more people than their budget allows and are looking for a sustainable way to embed culture change into their organisation 👉They want to be able to deliver customised solutions that work for them and their clients, colleagues or teams, without having to design training programmes from scratch. The photo below is of our latest cohort of Certified Facilitators at our #CQGlobalSummit in Chicago last week 😀 We talk every day to trainers, coaches, heads of People and Culture, EDI, L&D and those tasked with improving engagement and wellbeing. We'd love to talk to you too! #culturalintelligence #cq #certification #culture #EDI #employeeengagement #employeewellbeing

  • What are your behavioural preferences? We all have ways that we prefer to go about our lives, both personally and professionally. Many of the values we live by are instilled in us from a young age, and vary according to our upbringing, friendship group, education pathway and more. All of these values are equally valid, but differences in how we prefer to do things can really affect how well we relate to others. In a team environment, understanding our own and each other's behavioural preferences can have a profound impact on our working relationships, wellbeing and productivity. Contact Polly Collingridge or Emily Dorschler to find out more about our behavioural preferences (previously cultural values) team profile. It could open up some interesting insights, and even provide some "a-ha!" moments! #behaviouralpreferences #values #culture #teamdynamics

  • Our facilitators are everywhere! From corporate organisations, the public sector, education, charities, faith groups and private consultancies, CQ Certified Facilitators are our true champions. Spreading the word about CQ, training others and demonstrating passion for the benefits of a culturally intelligent workplace, we are truly grateful for all the work they do. At our #CQGlobalSummit in Chicago this week, there were breakouts for the different segments in which our facilitators work. Here is a snapshot of the independent consultants discussion group, led by Robin (Willis) Shabazz, J.D., Kelly Pınar Goodwin and Kristin Joy Ekkens. If you work in leadership, DEI, HR, international relations, wellbeing, coaching or consulting, and want to know what being a Certified Facilitator really means and how we support you, watch this space for our next post... • One of our amazing Associate Facilitators (and Director of Inclusion at King's College Hospital NHS Trust) Bernadette T. represented the Cultural Intelligence Centre UK yesterday with a keynote at the PPMA - Public Services People Managers Association 2024 conference. She explained that you can't be an inclusive leader without being culturally intelligent and shared inspiring case studies of the #Culturalintelligence training programmes at Barts Health NHS Trust and King's College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust. Trust-wide sustainable culture change obviously doesn't happen overnight, but the lasting, positive impact the training has already had is real cause for celebration, and means these organisations are committed to being in it for the long haul. Thanks Bernadette for being such a fantastic advocate for Cultural Intelligence and for sharing your insights so generously about what makes a successful #CQ training programme! • Can #culturalintelligence actually extend your life?! We were fascinated to listen to Noreena Hertz talking recently at the RSA about her new book on the loneliness epidemic (The Lonely Century: How to restore human connection in a world that's pulling it apart). Apparently, having plentiful, successful social connections is an important factor in extending your lifespan, even more so (incredibly!) than good diet and exercise. If 40% of American employees report feeling lonely (another statistic from the book) then surely this is another sign that the time is ripe for #CQ, which helps people connect over cultural divides of all kinds? #loneliness #longevity #socialconnections #culture

I'm excited to share the latest episode of the Nomadic Diaries podcast where I had the pleasure of diving deep into the world of Cultural Intelligence (CQ) with the wonderful Doreen Cumberford. 🌍✨We explored how CQ originated from Y2K bug research and its evolution into a crucial skill for diverse, international teams. 📈 We touched on the four main capabilities of CQ, how you can measure and develop them. 🧳❤️And I explained how my fascination with CQ arose from my own experiences living in different countries, as a child, as a young adult and then as a mother myself. 🌉 Thanks for inviting me Doreen, I especially enjoyed the coincidence that we have lived in 3 of the same places (Scotland, Mexico and the US) and loved sharing what I know about CQ with you! #CulturalIntelligence #GlobalMobility #CQ #NomadicDiaries #InterculturalTraining #DEI
