Central Park Roadway Islington construction: MiWay, TTC detours, starting July 3

Starting Wednesday, July 3, the City of Toronto is closing

  • Central Park Roadway between Cordova and Islington avenues

to accommodate a project to upgrade the sewers.

The TTC is detouring buses along this route, while the street is closed:

  • 50 Burnhamthorpe.

^ Note that the map misrepresents the regular path for buses along the 50 Burnhamthorpe route. Eastbound buses usually operate: southeastward along Cordova Avenue; eastward along Central Park Roadway; and then southward along Islington Avenue. Westbound buses usually operate northward along Islington; east- and southward along Central Park; and then west- and northwestward along Cordova. Also: Dundas is a street, not an avenue.

The closure likely also requires MiWay to detour buses along this route:

  • 26 Burnhamthorpe.

However, MiWay has not announced detours.

Construction on Central Park Roadway and the resulting MiWay and TTC detours continue until July 12.

50 Burnhamthorpe

From Wednesday, July 3 until Friday, July 12, eastbound buses operate along their regular path to Burnhamthorpe Road and Dundas Street West, then detour:

northeastward along Dundas West; and then
southward along Islington Avenue to Central Park Roadway,
resuming their regular path southward along Islington.

Eastbound buses skip their regular stops

  • on Cordova Avenue beyond Dundas Street West and
  • on Central Park Roadway at Islington Avenue.

Instead, eastbound buses drop off or pick up passengers at a temporary stop

  • on Islington Avenue beyond Dundas Street West.

Westbound buses operate along their regular path.
