Raipur: The Meteorological Department forecasts heavy rain in Surguja and Bilaspur divisions over the next two days. Meanwhile, lighter rain is expected in Raipur, Durg, and Bastar divisions for the next three days.
According to the state weather expert H.P Chandra, the South-West Monsoon has covered the entire country on July two, 2024, six days ahead of the normal date of July eight.

Chhattisgarh in the Northern Chhattisgarh expects widespread
rainfall with isolated heavy rainfall over the next two days, whereas the Central and Southern Chhattisgarh foresees a slight decrease in rainfall activity over the next three days.
The weather in Chhattisgarh is influenced by two key systems currently active in the region. A trough extends from northeastern Madhya Pradesh to the Chiwati Circulation over Assam, while a cyclonic circulation is positioned over East Bihar and nearby areas, situated at altitudes ranging from 4.5 to 5.8 km above sea level. The forecast indicates light to moderate rainfall expected across many parts of the state. However, there is a warning in place for isolated areas where heavy rain accompanied by thunderstorms is likely to take place.
Furthermore, over the next two days, the weather department suggests that Chhattisgarh will continue to experience light to moderate rainfall in various regions.
On Wednesday, Jashpur (Duldula) recorded the highest rainfall in the state at 92.5 mm. Kota, Ratanpur, and Belgahna received 80 mm, while Korba (Pali) received 60 mm.
Several other areas like Dharamjaygarh, Mukdega, Pasan, and Beltara received rainfall between 40-50 mm.
In terms of temperature, Dongargarh recorded the highest maximum temperature at 32.5 degrees Celsius, while Gaurela-Pendra-Marwahi district saw the lowest minimum temperature at 21.2 degrees Celsius. Raipur experienced a day temperature of 31.6 degrees Celsius, slightly below normal.
Raipur district has received 180.2 mm of rainfall so far this season, with today’s weather expected to be slightly cloudy with chances of thunderstorms and light rain.
The maximum temperature in Raipur is predicted to be around 32 degrees Celsius, with a minimum of approximately 25 degrees Celsius, added MET.
