‘No extension for KILA chief’

‘No extension for KILA chief’
Kochi: A high court bench of Justice Basant Balaji has set aside the state govt’s order that extended Joy Elamon’s term as director general at the Kerala Institute of Local Administration (KILA). The court was considering a plea by former MP Remya Haridas, who challenged the order extending Elamon’s term. The petitioner alleged that the extension was illegal because, according to Clause 43 of the memorandum of association, the director general can only continue in the post until the age of 60.
As Elamon turned 60 on July 4, 2023, it was unlawful for him to continue. tnn
