Bengaluru-based ecommerce startup POP has raised $2.4 million in seed funding led by IndiaQuotient, with participation from angel investors. This funding will accelerate POP's rollout of Unified Payments Interface (UPI) services via the POPclub app, which has received approval from the National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI) as a Third-Party Application Provider (TPAP). Developed with YES BANK and JUSPAY, the POPclub app allows users to earn POPcoins, a unique shopping currency, with 2% value back on every transaction. Founder Bhargav Errangi aims to make POP the primary platform for payments and shopping among Gen Z and millennials. Since its launch in May 2023, POP has partnered with over 200 brands, including mCaffeine, Simple Skin Care, Adil Qadri, Anveshan, Two Brothers Organic Farms® and epigamia, and engaged over four million customers. Pine Labs, a merchant commerce startup, has received approval from a Singapore court to merge its local entity with its Indian unit, and transfer all its assets and properties, effectively permitting the firm to shift its operations to India. Pine Labs disclosed the court order in a recent regulatory filing seen by TechCrunch. Pine Labs offers a range of products and services to merchants, such as cloud-connected point-of-sale machines and working capital. It is backed by Peak XV, Fidelity, Invesco, Temasek, PayPal and Alpha Wave and is valued at over $5 billion. It is among the handful of Indian startups that have been shifting their domiciles to India of late. Meesho, Zepto, Flipkart, Razorpay and Udaan are also in the process of evaluating a similar move. FinTech startups PhonePe and Groww have already relocated their overseas holding entities to India. Pine Labs declined to comment. An investor in Indian startups said firms are shifting their domiciles to India because it is highly unlikely for startups with valuations below $20 billion to get meaningful coverage from analysts in developed markets, which will lead to limited demand from institutional investors. Meet CodeMate® – a Noida-based startup that aims to become the "Grammarly of Coding" and assist developers in writing flawless code 💡👇 Founded in 2022, CodeMate initially offered text-to-code conversion and documentation. However, in early 2023,  founder Ayush Singhal recognized a bigger need: fixing errors within codebases. Recognising that the then-existing tools lacked the capability to provide context awareness across the entire codebase, Singhal decided to focus on the very blazing problem at hand — and this proved to be a major turning point. Based in Bengaluru, insurtech startup Finsall Resources has secured INR 15 crore in bridge funding, with leading support from Unicorn India Ventures and seafund, among other institutional investors. This boost in capital will aid in establishing a non-banking finance company to expand lending operations and strengthen partnerships with insurers and lenders. Founded in 2018 by Tim Mathews, Promod Khanna, and Prabal Khanna, Finsall specializes in insurance premium financing services, offering streamlined credit solutions through its credit-as-a-service (CaaS) platform. With plans to diversify its portfolio and expand its reach to 8,000 locations across India, Finsall aims to raise approximately $10 million in its series A funding round in the next six to seven months.
