If you're on Android, I'd say that #GoogleWallet is a must have app (except if you're on Samsung Mobile, in which case, #SamsungWallet may be a better choice) - it's a well-designed app with intuitive user experience. Here are my thoughts about Google Wallet in India, in LiveMint.

PhonePe's App Store launch: The entire PR is about an anti-Google stand. But is Google's 30% 'tax' really that big a deal? Important to note that Google’s service fee is primarily for digital goods sold through the play store. Guess what’s the percentage of Indian app developers who sell digital products? Only 3%! Plus, only 60 out of over 200,000 app developers earn enough to get into the 30% commission bracket ONLY 60! ✋ Building alternative app stores at a sustainable level is hard. And now it was PhonePe's turn to speak out about the challenges it has faced in the digital market. But Google attempting anti-competitive practices isn't a first. In 2018, Google's Play Protect was incorrectly identifying Aptoide as a potentially malicious app, leading to it being hidden and uninstalled from Android smartphones without user consent. India’s PhonePe launches app store with zero fee in challenge to Google: On 23rd Sept.23, PhonePe has launched its own app store called Indus Appstore. The app store is being pitched as a "Made in India" alternative to the Google Play Store, and it is offering developers a number of incentives to list their apps on the platform. One of the biggest advantages of the Indus Appstore for developers is that it does not charge any platform fee or commission on in-app purchases. This is in stark contrast to the Google Play Store, which charges developers a 30% commission on all in-app purchases. At a time when Indian startups are at war with Google over its billing policy, PhonePe said Indus Appstore will not impose any platform fees or commissions for in-app payments. Developers will have the freedom to integrate their preferred payment gateway within their apps without any restrictions. Another advantage of the Indus Appstore is that it offers developers a localized experience. The app store is available in 12 Indian languages, and it features a curated selection of apps that are relevant to Indian users. PhonePe has also partnered with a number of Indian phone manufacturers to distribute the Indus Appstore. This means that the app store will be pre-installed on new smartphones from brands such as Samsung Electronics, Xiaomi India, and vivo.
