69 News has a reputation for quality. In our core market, WFMZ's broadcasts are the number one newscasts in their time slots, surpassing any of our competition from Philadelphia and New York. Not only do we have the approval of viewers, but 69 News is regularly recognized by its professional peers.
WFMZ has won multiple National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences Emmy Awards, The Pennsylvania Associated Press Broadcasters Association Awards, and The Pennsylvania Association of Broadcasting Awards for our news coverage and special programming. In 2022, 69 News won a Regional Emmy for Outstanding Morning Newscast. In 2021, we won Emmys for both Outstanding Morning Newscast and Outstanding Evening Newscast.
69 News is an innovator in the field of TV journalism. We launched the nation's first local 24-hour AccuWeather Channel, and we produce a daily Spanish-language newscast.
