SALISBURY TWP., Pa. — In light of his upcoming retirement, longtime 69 News anchor Rob Vaughn announced Monday what many have been wondering since he first made public his plans to retire: Who will take his seat once he leaves the anchor desk?

Jim Vaughn: 4 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.

Starting next week, 69 News anchor Jim Vaughn — who happens to be Rob's son — will bring viewers the news alongside Wendy Davis from 4 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.

After graduating from West Chester University in 2003, Jim worked as a news reporter and anchor at WAEB-AM in Allentown. He then went to Metro Traffic, where he got his start in television by providing traffic reports for 69 News.

In 2005, Jim joined the 69 Sports team, serving as weekend sports anchor for close to a decade. In 2012, he helped launch 69 News at Sunrise: Weekend Edition. And in 2014, he helped launch 69 News at 4:00.

Wendy will be joined by her new co-anchor Rick Holmes for the 10 p.m. and 10:30 p.m. weekday newscasts. Viewers can still expect to see Rick reporting for the earlier shows before hitting the anchor desk with Wendy.

Rick's experience with journalism also started early. He was a paper boy as a kid and the editor of his high school newspaper.

After college, his first reporting job was in Traverse City, Michigan.

He was later with News 12 New Jersey for 16 years.

Rick calls Phillipsburg, New Jersey, home.

The entire WFMZ community wishes Rob a wonderful retirement and welcomes Jim and Rick to the anchor desk.
