ALLENTOWN, Pa. -- A man is behind bars on charges he shot and killed another man outside of a child's birthday party in Allentown.

The shooting happened February 17 at East Walnut and South Dauphin streets.

The Lehigh County District Attorney's Office says Roberto Gonzalez, 25, of Allentown is accused of killing Miguel Dalmasi, 33, of Alburtis, in a dispute that happened at a birthday party for a one-year-old.

Officials say Dalmasi was found dead at the scene, and his death was officially ruled a homicide.

A media release from the coroner's office says, prior to the shooting, several unknown men wearing ski masks gathered the hall where the birthday party was being held and a dispute began.

Officials continue to say Dalmasi went outside to mediate the dispute and a fight broke out. A man, now identified as Gonzalez, allegedly pulled out a gun and fired several shots, hitting Dalmasi.

Gonzalez was identified by witnesses, authorities say. He is charged with criminal homicide, possession of a firearm prohibited, and two charges of recklessly endangering another person.
