Fantastic! Highly recommend

Me & my partner came for a late lunch, we had the meal of the day which consisted of 3 courses for €18, this turned out to be fantastic value! All 3 courses both tasted fantastic & were presented incredibly well. Our waiter (Albert) was a great help, he spoke English very well and had great knowledge of each dish option, the service and food were fantastic and we highly recommend

We had lunch with my family and everything was really nice. The food, the price and, essentially, the attention we had from the waiter called "Cristian". Personally, I would recommend the "huevos estrellados" and the "patatas bravas", they were extraordinarily delicious and quite economical!

Youssef’s Elevated Whisky Sour

We had a wonderful dinner here! We were wary of eating at a restaurant in such a crowded and touristy place. But the food was excellent. And Youssef, the bartender, was the star of the show. He served us his signature cocktail—an elevated take on a whisky sour with egg white, fragrant cinnamon, honey, and mint. Beyond his mixology, he was quick and detail-oriented! If you’re in the neighborhood and hungry/thirsty, I’d recommend stopping by and seeing if you can grab a spot near the bar.

Left disappointed

Left really disappointed. Part of our order never arrived despite us asking twice for it (thankfully this was not added to the bill) and the food we ordered seemed to just lack being a complete meal. We ordered the seabass and the chicken with prawns (surf and turf), what we didn’t realise, and were not advised by the serving staff, was that this was literally all that comes on the plate. We needed to order some vegetables as a side to complete the meal. What food did come was tasty but considering the cost was considerably over priced compared to other offerings in the area. I would also just add the service was not particularly great including clearing one plate away while the other person was still eating theirs. I would need a lot of convincing before considering returning.

Food is bad, but the waiters are worse

Don't go. And if by chance need to eat here due to some overwhelming, overpowering issue, stay clear of the steaks. Here is why: We had an assortment of tapas and 2 x entrecote. The tapas were ok, but clearly something from the freezer that has gone through the golden wishing well. The two entrecotes were so chewy that we had to leave half of one and more or less the entire other. I added a photo so you could see it. Even with steak knives, it was difficult to cut (we tried to knives just to be sure) 3 different waiters were told. One just turned very quickly to the table next to us. One did not care. And the last, which seemed like the boss, was told twice and just shrugged and demanded the full amount. Conclusion: Food is bad, but the service is even worse.

Went here for my birthday meal. They took 45 minutes to take out drinks to starts off. We was ignored when ordered waters and made to wait an extra 15 minutes, and got our whole order that we pre ordered (and paid) wrong and we were made to pay extra for their own mistakes and no communication

An excellent lunch

This restaurant was situated in the corner of a bustling square. The service was a little on the slow side, which suited us, but very friendly and helpful. The wine prices were very reasonable. We began with tapas and then shared an excellent seafood paella. This was the first time we’ve ever been asked how we would like our Spanish omelette cooked so we went with the waiter’s suggestion of the way his mother cooks it and it was indeed delicious. Our waiter brought small dish of aioli and suggested we mixed it into the (perfectly cooked) rice. Both ways were really good. This was followed by the most enormous Crème Catalan we’ve ever seen!

Lovely afternoon stop. Kids enjoyed their pasta and the adults had a great selection of tapas. Great, relaxed atmosphere away from the Ramblas. Staff excellent with fantastic attitude to customers. No pressure at all. Most helpful. Thank you!

Look I’m going to start with the positives, the waiter was lovely, the square is a pleasant place to have an evening meal but…… It’s overpriced, the food is below average and you can eat for much better value down at the beach and have a much nicer view. Paella 24.50 euro and only for one. Left hungry and disappointed. The only place in Barcelona, that let me down.

Shared tapas & dessert for dinner for two on Oct 13, 2022. Stopped here because of the clean white tablecloths & interesting menu. Was impressed by the seamless & professional service. Our meal arrived promptly & the food was delicious! We spent 50 euros which included a beer, 4 tapas & a dessert. Thought that great value! Very happy with our choice.

Loved their food and friendly staff. Highly recommended the anchovies, 'pa amb tomaquet' (toasts with tomatoes), and slow-cooked artichokes in olive oil. Can't wait to try their hot tapas.

Great food and location. Service a little slow.

Parked up for a drink, stayed for food. Had a couple of beers then menu enticed us to stay. Food was very good, service was quite slow at times, empty glasses for a little too long. Otherwise a great evening. Staff also made up a cheeseboard for us which wasn’t on the menu so very grateful for that. Just a shame we ended up having to chase to pay so we could leave. Seems once you have eaten service focussed on new arrivals. But otherwise a great place and great location.

I am Barcelona born and bred and I used to come to this place with friends for many years. Today I have returned after some months and it has become awful, just another rip off place, tourist trap as other reviews said. 4,40€ for a canya (33cl glass) of beer, are we crazy?!?! I mentioned my surprise to the waitress and she said "that price had increased a little, like everywhere, and now there's also a terrace supplement" - which didn't use to exist here and, by the way, is not specified in the bill. Neither my friends or I will be coming back to this place again. RIP Glaciar.

One of the best restaurants in Plaza Real

We ate at the restaurant twice, once in the evening and then the next day at lunch as our flight had been rescheduled and we needed to fill in some time. Both times the tapas were excellent, especially the sliced aubergine in honey - and the house wine. Welcoming staff, excellent service and a great view of the square.

They do not pay attention to their customers

Although the restaurant was not busy, no one came to clean our table or to bring us the menu for 20 minutes. After we stopped a waiter and requested the menu, he brought us the one that did not include drinks, even though we specifically explained we only want to have a drink. When we pointed this out, he didn’t bring us the right one and he wanted to order without a menu.
