The tour was very thorough as to the long history of the various stages of building. It's beautiful inside and with much architecture and planning. We just had the regular audio guide, not the special ipad experience, and it was absolutely fine. The tour leads you through the house, the inner stairs with their blue tiles are especially memorable. The weather was not very pleasant because of the heat. The parc was crowded and it was hard to take good pictures. - Kalia Z72 contributionsSuper cool part of the city. Cathedral was beautiful, so was the palace beside it didn’t pay to go inside, but just viewing the outside was enough. I definitely recommend spending a whole day walking through this area. Rich in details and ornaments it is a monument of better days of Spain and Catalonia. It is relatively plain on the outside and without a great deal of art on the inside, but the incredibly high vaulted ceiling and soaring columns let great deal of light in and imbue a heavenly feeling. The museum is excellent and really well done, and the virtual tour and Robokeeper are great fun. The shopping is wonderful. We can walk up and down, and there are benches scattered around to take a break. We enjoyed the area, we kept away from La Rambla as there is nothing to get excited about, extremely touristy and tacky. However the restaurants at the other end looked okay. We spent most of our time in the gothic area, and looked for restaurants/cafes away from the main streets. We always had good food and service.
