My family had wonderful stay at this hotel. The grounds were beautiful and it was so relaxing to sit on the balcony overlooking the river. The pool was clean and heated. Our room was clean and decorated nicely. A microwave and refrigerator would have been nice addition as well as an access card rather than an actual key. There was no maid service due to Covid but the front desk was always happy to provide us with additional towels or coffee pods. The coffee and pre-packaged pastries offered in the lobby every morning was appreciated. We took advantage of the kayak rental and had a great experience. Trolley stop is right in front and there are also many restaurants within walking distance. We will stay here again and recommend to other families.

I really wanted to like this place but entering through the balcony to the room with people walking by on the top floor was less than ideal. I heard Street noise from around 10:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. since it's right next to the road. And in 2021 who gives you a physical key? Probably necessary since you're entering into a balcony from the common balcony.

If you're coming here for beaches it's too far to walk so you need the trolley on the busy streets or you need to drive and pay a premium for parking so what's the point?

No microwaves in the room but on a positive note to have a nice outdoor pool.

I highly recommend staying at a place where you're there at the beach or a short walk away (you might pay a little bit more but I think it would be well worth it as this place is already fairly pricey.

We have stayed at this hotel several times before, but this time things seemed to be going downhill. The views are beautiful both from the balcony and grounds! However, the cleanliness has gone down hill over the past few years. This is the first time we have stayed when the pool was open, it was nice and warm (heated) and comfortable to swim in but had limited seating, especially shaded areas and the pool was a little dirty. Towels are available at the pool, but 2/3 times they were out and there is no phone or way to contact front desk staff nearby so you have to walk quite a bit to let the desk know. They were refilled in a timely manner when requested. The room was not as clean as in our past stays- hair on the bathroom floor, mildew build up in the shower, ceiling chipping, stains on walls. In all of our past stays they had a full breakfast (have been staying for about 3 years, most recently 6 weeks prior to this stay- mid May 2021) and now it is just wrapped muffins/ danishes and coffee from 8-10am although the website states breakfast and signage in the room says breakfast 7-10am. We tried to go in for coffee at 7:40am the first morning and the office was locked. I did question when this changed and was informed "recently, in June and it has been a very common complaint". This was a huge reason we have stayed here and most likely won't be anymore. Also, they are still not offering service in rooms- which is fine, but when there for 4-5 days you need trash emptied, fresh towels, toilet paper, rug vacuumed from beach sand, etc. I was able to get fresh towels toilet paper and extra cups at the front desk. However, if staying for multiple days it would be nice to be asked if/ how often we would like our room serviced or if not at all- or at least having a sign to hang on the door for items needed. There was no explanation of this at check in and I have stayed at other hotels recently with service using gloves and masks for safety (with the option to decline). When we stayed 6 weeks prior we we're informed of no service, but to call the desk if we needed things. We were not told that this stay, so assumed we would get service. The rooms are good size, with a desk/ chair to eat at or use a computer. The internet connection was not stable and TV connection was slow to change channels, also the beds were way, way too soft, you sink in when sitting or laying. They have always been on the softer side, but the ones in our room were awful. I liked the sink separate from toilet and shower. Overall, ok place- but I think we will be sadly looking to find a new hotel we love!

From the moment I checked in, I had a wonderful experience at Ogunquit River Inn in Wells, Maine. I can't say enough about the great staff starting with the Manager, Heather. I was assisted with my luggage both when I arrived and departed. Being a senior citizen it was very important to me. I had a beautiful, comfortable room with a great view of the river.

The hotel is located within easy driving distance of Ogunquit and Kennebunkport and we have visited this site for over twenty years. The current hotel operator is the best. The room was clean and the view from the balcony was great, providing a view of the salt marsh, Wells Beach and the Atlantic Ocean in the distance. In addition, the room was not serviced during our stay by anyone due to Covid-19, which we greatly appreciated and would have requested. Towels and any other items needed were always available at the desk , 24 hours a day.

Room tip: Best views are from the center building on the second and third floors.

Absolute let down. I was so excited after reading the reviews and viewing photos to check in here. The room was like a maze to find. The entrance was through a slider on the back side a good distance from where you park with a lot of stairs. The room smelt so bad almost like a kid peed on the carpet. There were nail clippings on the floor. There were splash marks behind the toilet that dyed the wall a different color. Chunks of the shower were falling off and visual wear and some mold on the floor as well as it was dripping and wouldn’t stop. Spiders in the corner of the walls. Sprinklers spraying us as we tried to walk down the path to our room. The shower door actually fell off the track when we attempted to shower later that night. The bed was clean. We only stayed 1 of our 3 nights and decided to go elsewhere. The front desk staff were always friendly and apologized and understanding and have refunded our money. This may have been a fluke thing based on other reviews. I also could have sworn I saw photos of a hot tub. They could really use a hot tub out on the front looking over the marsh! Beautiful views !
