This resort is amazing! The staff (shout out to Jesus, Jose, Theresa) made our week so incredibly wonderful.
I'm no stranger to the H10 hospitality and this resort is no different.

My only quibbles are that there's no adult -only evening entertainment and that we paid for privilege upgrade but didn't receive a privilege room (was really looking forward to that jacuzzi).

Today is home time and honestly I can’t wait to leave. We were done probably a week into our stay. We chose Mexico for our honeymoon and went for this hotel due the various food options and proximity to the beach.

Weather - has been awful. This is no one’s fault as only god can control this. I would say do more research into the seasons if you can, because if we ever come back it will not be over this season.

The only redeemable feature that makes this for us just about a 3* (I am being more than generous) is the staff. They are wonderful, attentive, polite and truthfully so enthusiastic about their jobs.

The food - where do I start. Firstly my husband got quite ill after eating here. We weren’t drinking and it didn’t start until mid way through our holiday. The only thing my husband ate that I didn’t was the fruit - so read into that what you will. The food is BLAND , processed and repetitive. I am very fortunate to have travelled frequently and I have never experienced a buffet so poor. In terms of the restaurants - for me the only one worth visiting is Blue Moon. The rest are tasteless and poor.

The rooms. Day one we had ants in our bathroom and throughout the time the shower stank of sulphur. We asked to move but because it was fully booked we had to stay. The room/ our clothes everything ended up smelling like this. Honesty cannot wait to wash our clothes and take an hour long shower to get rid of the smell. Our room ( we are just normal guests) was spacious but quite dated and didn’t feel luxurious at all.

The hotel - there were a few roof cave ins whilst we have been here. Admittedly the maintenance have patched them up but not very well. Most still leak. And we also found that the pools were not cleaned in the evening, we were forever stepping on seaweed/ plastic etc.

All in all. Poor. Not worth the money nor the 5* rating.

Positives..
Our room was recently renovated and nice. No complaints there at all. The check in process was smooth. The food was overall pretty good. Our experience at Sensai was fabulous. The pools were clean and nice atmosphere overall. The most positive was a few of the servers. Mateo at the lobby bar was amazing, and Poncho at the Bistro Bar, Javier at the Italian restaurant, and Ricardo at the El Beso pool were fabulous. If not for the service from these individuals especially, our experience would have been less.

Negatives..
I have to say that it rained much of the time we were there, which is no fault of the resort, but it certainly illuminated areas where they could improve. For starters, the Nightlife is almost non existent outside of the lobby, and unfortunately, there is not enough seating for the number of people (I saw people fighting over seats) and there is very little happening outside of the lobby. I was disappointed there was nothing for adults only, since I booked for an adults-only experience. Food- There were a number of times when restaurants were unexpectedly closed. We ended up eating dinner at the buffet twice by sheer need, not desire. The Beach was absolutely awful. I understand the seaweed is an issue they cannot control, but there wasn't even a small space cleared. Another negative was the number of times we were put in a position being asked to do/pay extra for things. Also disappointed in the "missing extras" that I've experienced elsewhere (an umbrella was impossible to find?).
