This hotel is old with outdated furniture, however it has a lift, friendly staff, breakfast & internet. Plus clean rooms and bathrooms (although shared). It was convenient with rooms of mountains. As the hotel has aged, the floor creeks. The resturant below is great, order the deal of the day and you wont be hungry.
Stayed there for 2 nights and as the name states, it is basic as it appears to be. The room, showers and toilet are clean. I had a room which has a comfortable bed, cupboard, tv, wash basin. The internet connection had been good while i was staying there. The bed was very comfortable to sleep although i can hear noises from other occupants who live at the other rooms nearby. It is around 10 minutes walk from Interlaken West. As most hotels in Interlaken are high, the price for the place I stayed here is reasonable compare to other accommodations.
As the name suggests this is a basic hotel but the rooms, showers and toilets are all clean (showers/toilets are shared). The buffet breakfast is a choice of cereals, breads, conserves, meats, cheeses and boiled eggs with juice and tea/coffee. We stayed here on two separate nights, before and after our trip to the Bernese-Oberland. Accommodation in Switzerland can be on the expensive side for a room (even those with shared showers/toilets) and this hotel was much cheaper than the rest we stayed in. I have given the rooms an 'average' rating due to their questionable decor but despite this they were clean and comfortable.
Arrived around midnight. The lady who runs the hotel was still working and welcomed us. The room was fairly basic but clean. The bathroom and shower was 15 feet from our door and very clean. Had not shared a shower and bath before but no problem there. The room had no air conditioning and it was very warm while there but the window swung wide open so really not that big of a deal. The breakfast was included and VERY good. Hotels are very expensive in Interlaken so for one night this hotel worked fine. More like a 3 1/2 star review. Would recommend for a short stay in Interlaken. Lady who runs the hotel is very nice.
We stayed in this hotel for one night. The room is basic as it appears in the name:) There is a shared bathroom on each floor. The bed was comfortable so if you are looking for a place to sleep well and not to pay too much money; this hotel is what you are looking for. The hotel prices in Interlaken are too high since it is an attractive city for tourists all around the world. I can say that these rooms with this price are great. Otherwise, you have to stay out of Interlaken if you do not want to spend too much money for accommodation. However, there was one thing that bothered us: The walls were either thin or not isolated well. We heard the noises of the couple in the next room.
