Places to stay are graded on a 0-100 scale. The higher the grade, the easier it is for travellers to find restaurants and things to do within walking distance.
As the name suggests this is a basic hotel but the rooms, showers and toilets are all clean (showers/toilets are shared). The buffet breakfast is a choice of cereals, breads, conserves, meats, cheeses and boiled eggs with juice and tea/coffee. We stayed here on two separate nights, before and after our trip to the Bernese-Oberland. Accommodation in Switzerland can be on the expensive side for a room (even those with shared showers/toilets) and this hotel was much cheaper than the rest we stayed in. I have given the rooms an 'average' rating due to their questionable decor but despite this they were clean and comfortable.

the name of the hotels tells everything about the room. The room was basic and the shared bathroom was not very cozy. They didn't provide anything for the shower, for example shower gel or something. We also didn't have a hairdryer in the room and we were not given at the reception in the evening - we had to wait till the morning to get a hairdryer. breakfast was basic as well: only cereals, some bread, cheese etc, no hot meals. Also, receptionist was not happy and looked like he just jumped out of bed when he welcomed us. We heard some noise from other rooms as well. I would say that price was too big for what we got.

This place was great! Clean, organized, and very helpful! Breakfast was nice to have. Shared bathrooms were always clean and open to use. Not very busy, so it was quite all the time. Close to town! I had a great stay here!

I never like it when the same place has multiple names, usually it's not a good sign but I was pleasantly surprised with my stay. Asking around for "Basicrooms Hotel" in Interlaken will get you some strange looks but there are street signs for Hotel Alpina, and every knows it. Anyways, I struggled to find it :) but once there, they were helpful, the younger gentleman working wasn't the "tour guide host" i was perhaps dreaming for, but that might be too much to expect and he was fairly helpful and made some good suggestions for food and drink and getting around town. They give you a bus pass to use around town, although I was never asked to show it on a bus and I had a Swiss Rail pass which I think covered it. The bus runs about every 30 minutes, and will take you to Wilderswil which is a bit closer to Lauterbrunnen or Grindelwald than the main train station. I booked a single room on booking.com for 2 nights at about $70 a night and that included breakfast. The room had a sink and separate shower and toilet, but an amazing view of the mountains! You are a bit away from the action here... there are mostly the back packer hostels at this end of town, not a bad thing but probably a 20 minute walk to things or the bus every half hour. I didn't come to Interlaken to hang out in Interlaken though, so it wasn't a big deal for me.

We original booked two twin rooms through online agent but confirmed with double rooms. Dora the owner gave us an extra room and it's a lovely ensuite! The other two rooms were basic but it's okay in terms of price. Breakfast was good and well cooked red eggs, extra tea and juice in request, friendly staff. It's just the location is not perfect.

This hotel is old with outdated furniture, however it has a lift, friendly staff, breakfast & internet. Plus clean rooms and bathrooms (although shared). It was convenient with rooms of mountains. As the hotel has aged, the floor creeks. The resturant below is great, order the deal of the day and you wont be hungry.

Stayed there for 2 nights and as the name states, it is basic as it appears to be. The room, showers and toilet are clean. I had a room which has a comfortable bed, cupboard, tv, wash basin. The internet connection had been good while i was staying there. The bed was very comfortable to sleep although i can hear noises from other occupants who live at the other rooms nearby. It is around 10 minutes walk from Interlaken West. As most hotels in Interlaken are high, the price for the place I stayed here is reasonable compare to other accommodations.

Arrived around midnight. The lady who runs the hotel was still working and welcomed us. The room was fairly basic but clean. The bathroom and shower was 15 feet from our door and very clean. Had not shared a shower and bath before but no problem there. The room had no air conditioning and it was very warm while there but the window swung wide open so really not that big of a deal. The breakfast was included and VERY good. Hotels are very expensive in Interlaken so for one night this hotel worked fine. More like a 3 1/2 star review. Would recommend for a short stay in Interlaken. Lady who runs the hotel is very nice.

We stayed in this hotel for one night. The room is basic as it appears in the name:) There is a shared bathroom on each floor. The bed was comfortable so if you are looking for a place to sleep well and not to pay too much money; this hotel is what you are looking for. The hotel prices in Interlaken are too high since it is an attractive city for tourists all around the world. I can say that these rooms with this price are great. Otherwise, you have to stay out of Interlaken if you do not want to spend too much money for accommodation. However, there was one thing that bothered us: The walls were either thin or not isolated well. We heard the noises of the couple in the next room.

"AS a tourist you receive a free buss pass that gets you all over Interlaken plus you can take bus to Thun. It runs along the stunning lake. Resturants in the area are expensive, but if you shop around you find the right price. Plus there is a supermarket in town."
