We´ve been to TWO by Axel for our first time and it was a great experience.

The hotel is in a side street of the connecting route to the airport. Therefore you can reach the hotel via Aerobus easily. A subway station is right across the street with an easy connection to the shopping center or to the beach.

In contrast to Axel Flagship in Calle d´Aribau, TWO is not settled in the center of "Gayxample" but at the edge o fit which is not that bad. You can reach all the gay bars within 5 to 10 minutes by a short walk and the area is more Spanish/Catalan with lots of nice restaurants and bars. You find supermarkets around the hotel or Mercat de Sant Antoni nearby.

The hotel itself is modern and seems to be a new building with all the Axel elements you know: sky bar, roof top pool and fitness center. The rooms are modern, have much space and you feel comfortable at once. The staff is very nice and supportive. THANK YOU to all we´ve met at the reception. The breakfast buffet is very versatile and fresh. Even with a longer stay it won´t get boring.

We think we´ve found "our" hotel when we will have our next holidays in BCN. Nevertheless we will switch to the Sky Bar in the Flagship for our late evening Cocktails because the roof top in TWO is not open that long night.

Coming from Vancouver, Canada, this was our first stop. Great location with proximity to much but not much at the same time. Taxis were easy and quick to get around.

Room: spacious enough. The bathroom amenities were basic. Soap and two bath towels. The bathrooms are open concept so you don’t get any privacy if you wanna do your business.

Breakfast: basic continental but well done. The morning staff in the breakfast area was polite and helpful.

Checkin and check out: the employee Eric was absolutely passive aggressive and unhelpful. From checking in to checking out, not at all helpful, not friendly. Not once did he say “welcome” or “thank you” to us. Even trying to exit the parking lot, he took our fob pass which is needed to access the parking. Again we had to go the counter. Then we got the parking lot and came up the ramp and pressed the button several times and doesn’t open the gate. We went back down the ramp to the lift and then back up to lobby and he was like “to close to the gate. Back down and we stood there for 8 mins before he finally opened it. Just poor energy and poor attitude.

Parking: we parked for 24 euros per night. The parkade is extremely tight and dark.

We won’t stay here again, but we also enjoy good service and don’t have any issue paying for it. But at 350$ per night, I don’t think this is the place to be.
