3 star brutalist and aloof

Don’t be fooled. It’s part of the Hilton chain but it’s a 3 star at most. Staff was aloof. Was a bit dissatisfied with the suite I booked, at a hefty rate, but the bath wasn’t running and there was no shower. But no one seemed to care. I was very happy to check out early.

We stayed 5 nights for points. Strangely they charged us 50 euro in taxes. When I asked how they calculated % tax on zero amount paid they had no answer. Overall, hotel staff quite unfriendly. We are just doing our jobs and don’t have to be nice vibe. Executive lounge had same food each of 5 evenings. Breakfast in lounge was very limited; good breakfast in restaurant though. Executive floor King Room was decent size. Water was replenished daily. Location is good, 7 min walk from metro station. There ate also several restaurants nearby hotel. Big fuss with late checkout. Finally agreed to 13:30. Wish Hilton had same checkout policies as Marriott. Makes me stay at Marriotts more often these days because of that.

The tax you mentioned is the Barcelona Tourist Tax, which, as of March 2024, is 4.90€/ person/ night. We are sorry to hear about your experience with our staff and the executive lounge offerings. We'll address these issues internally and work on improvements.

Regarding the checkout process, we understand your concerns and will review our policies for better flexibility. Excellent stay. Loved both the breakfast and happy hours. The room was comfortable and quiet. The shower pressure was terrific. All amenities were top notch. The front desk staff was courteous and helpful. The location is convenient near the Maria Christina metro station and a myriad of Spanish and fast food options.

Room tip: Make sure to bring/buy an adapter if visiting from The States.

Overall good. We arrived pretty late and welcome was warm. Spent time explaining things to us.

Room nice. Pictures showed Nespresso but actually a kettle which was the only negative. Lovely power shower.

Breakfast buffet as expected- good coffee

We stayed for one night and would definitely recommend! Room was clean, bathroom clean and had necessities. Bed was also very comfy! No issues with our one night stay. Did not get to check out the area but did get coffee at Brooklyn cafe near by.

This hotel cannot achieve the minimum standards expected of a Hilton property.

The room was lacking in amenities and toiletries were only provided upon request, and the so called executive lounge was more like a common room which was constantly overcrowded. There was no breakfast service in the executive lounge, only cookies and biscuits despite their notice of a breakfast service.

Staff were generally unhelpful with the exception of a select few, and some people especially Diego at the bar went the extra mile to make our stay miserable when we asked to borrow cutlery to share some fruit that we bought from the neighbouring supermarket. Room service hotline even tried to charge us for borrowing cutlery. Interactions with the staff made it seem like they were trying to get out of their jobs by pushing us to different colleagues whenever we came to them with a request. There wasn’t enough tissue paper in the room and they questioned our need for additional tissue when we requested this.

During breakfast time, we noted substandard hygiene practices, such as only changing placemats and cutlery without even giving the table a wipe down - literally a gym room has better hygiene standards than their restaurant. Service was subpar with a long wait until waiting staff would clear our tables after we finished food.

My mother’s scarf went missing in our hotel room; whilst I have no way of proving whether or not the housekeeping staff made off with it, this is what we highly suspect.

Neither the hotel or the Hilton customer service email responded to my comments or requests for help after several days of waiting.

Room tip: Avoid this hotel.

I am saddened to hear we were not able to make you feel appreciated nor at ease at our Hilton Barcelona and we were well below your expectations which is very disappointing for me.
