We stayed here for one night before flying out. We thought the decor was really interesting and retro in a good way. The front desk staff was so friendly. The room was big with a fireplace that randomly came on during the night a few times glowing in the room was a bit creepy. there was a fridge but no microwave. The walls were not sound proof but the big group visiting next door went to bed early. The bed was not as comfortable and soft as i needed it to be but really no complaints this was booked using air miles and it was adequate enough

I checked in at 1 am and had to get up at 6 am. I slept in a bit because breakfast did not start until 6:30 am. Because of the limited time I did not go ask if there were any additional blankets I could have. The hotels in tropical places sometimes have blankets the thickness of sheets but I did not expect such in Edmonton. All that said, for the money the room was above expectations. I turned up the thermostat and slept not too bad in the time I had. The room was very large. The breakfast was below the average but not too bad. I stayed at a place nearby a few months ago that was more money but worse than this one.

NOT SAFE for single female occupant.
Propositioned in the way to my room and followed by the same man to my door. No lock on the main entry door( it had been removed only the holes remain) this was an adjoining room and the door between the rooms was a single with NO way of locking it. The only security was a small bistro table strategically placed in front of the door which wouldn’t have kept my young child out had he had a thought to get in. I wouldn’t have noticed the adjoining room security issue except there where 2 men talking in the next room and I could hear every word. I thought I was too old to be creeped out but I have been completely corrected. This is the hotel that in movies women go missing. Stayed for 10 minutes. Will not be using Hotwire again.

This was one of the most awkward hotel rooms I’ve ever stayed in; it was horribly designed. We booked a room with one queen bed, which was definitely not a queen. It was a double at best (regardless of what the front desk says). My husband is a larger man, so it made for a tight squeeze. There clearly used to be two “queen” beds in the room, as the second headboard was still bolted to the wall, but with a table in front of it. There’s a “desk” crammed into the far corner that is a piece of glass on top of two small filing cabinets, which is, and I kid you not, propped up by hockey pucks (photos attached!). The tv is practically attached to the ceiling and we couldn’t figure out how to work the fireplace. The sheets had minor stains, but the towels were GROSS. They were so stained they should’ve been thrown out. Even though the bed was small, the mattress was comfy for one of us, but not the other. We had originally booked two nights, but we opted to go across the street to the Stars Inn after our first night. The staff were MUCH friendlier, the place was WAY cleaner, and the rooms were much more comfortable. Unless you’re only staying for a few hours and then heading to the airport, I would suggest spending the extra few bucks and book across the road. This is definitely a long-stay rigger motel.

The room was okay (nice and large) but filthy. Dried coffee was scattered all across the surfaces, and the shower curtain was moldy.

The female staff member who works during the day was horrible. She left the self-serve kitchen a complete mess. And complained when I asked her for food, as nothing had been replenished at 8:30 in the morning. She grumbled about having to work when I asked where coffee cups were.

Also: The male night staff had told me I could pay a fee to stay an hour or two longer -- until 1pm -- as the check-out was 12 noon. But the day lady was completely unaccommodating and wouldn't let me pay that fee to stay until 1. She called me a Karen when I complained about her terrible attitude and service. The hotel was dead, no guests and she couldn't accommodate me staying later.

This hotel is a complete fail due to the staff working there. Don't stay here - there are about 20 hotels around this hotel that also have free airport shuttles, for the same price and likely better employees.

Room tip: There are many hotels near this one that are likely much better and for the same price.

Stayed out of desperation after a crazy day of cancelled and delayed flights across country. I landed after 2:00 am so picked the cheapest place I could find that was close to the airport as I also had lost luggage I knew I’d need to pick up the next day.

Check in was good, the night clerk was patient even with me being so tired and confused. I bought a toothbrush kit for $5 and I signed up for the bagged breakfast the next morning and went to my room.

The room itself was a bit odd. The bed was pushed right up against the window and AC unit. The AC unit made a weird whistling sound all night, good thing I was exhausted or this would have been a problem. I managed to sleep through it. The walls are also super thin and I could hear people on the floor above urinating and flushing the toilet etc.

The cleanliness was not the best. I found blood (?) stains on the bath mat. Yuck.

The shower was good and the bagged breakfast was good. It had a juice box, yogurt, orange and small muffin inside. The lady at the front desk in the morning was also very nice and polite.

Overall the stay was ok for my situation and the cost. If I had to stay by choice I would stay elsewhere.

Room tip: Order the breakfast if you can. There’s a sign at the front desk about it.
