This summary was created by AI, based on recent reviews.

The Radisson Hotel Edmonton Airport presents a mixed bag for its guests, with some enjoying the festive atmosphere and homey vibes, while others were less impressed by uncomfortable pillows. While the staff receive accolades for their friendliness, service inconsistencies sometimes mar the experience. Room sizes are generally satisfying, though noise can penetrate the walls, and occasional lapses in cleanliness have been noted. Nonetheless, the hotel is commended for its overall cleanliness and comfort. Value-wise, the hotel is seen as reasonably priced, though not all guests feel they get their money's worth.

Used to stay at another hotel in Ice district area, but this time I have decided to choose a hotel in Edmonton Airport area because of the terrible weather!
I made a last-minute booking at the Airport, and gladly find this hotel with good reviews and room rate, with a little bit of wait but still acceptable amount of time, I was picked up by hotel shuttle bus!

The hotel lobby is very bright and have a welcome and warm feeling. The front desk lady checked me in in a very professional manner, and another Asian manager came out from the side office and she told me that the hotel just rebranded to Radisson Hotel, and briefly mentioned the hotel amenities and Radisson reward program, I was impressed!

At this point, I knew I made the right decision! I was checked into a room with a king size bed, the room was clean and facing highway but with no noise issue. Furniture is a little bit dated and still in very good condition.

I will definitely choose this Radisson hotel when I return to Edmonton next time, or try other Radisson hotel when I travel to other part of Canada.

Booked via Radisson for 61.50$C for one night. Called for shuttle around 8pm and it arrived in about 20 minutes (shared service with other hotels so it will make a few stops).

Check-in was quick and polite, got a room on second floor. The one queen bed room was very nice and modern, clean, smart TV (did not work with my roku or casting), clean bathroom with shower. Very good night sleep.

The gym is small and well appointed, 3 treadmills, 1 elliptical, weights. Plenty of parking.

The downside was the restaurant. There is nothing in the area so Lumberjack is your only option (used to be an Indian restaurant but still owned by the same people). Breakfast was expensive, 17.99 (the same breakfast would be 5$ less elsewhere) and eggs were overdone, bacon almost burned, cheap salty ham, salty potatoes, no coffee or juice included.

We arrived here and were the only car in the parking lot , I had booked a superior suite which the ad said included a shower/tub combo of which i specifically needed a tub ,ad also said breakfast included . ( restauraunt was closed ) The room had no tub so I asked specifically for a room with the tub , she said there was nothing ...as I said this is an empty hotel completely she was quite ignorant actually not accomadating at all , of course there was one available if I wanted to pay another 50 $ once again I mention it was empty ...I was already paying 165 $ for a budget hotel ,i wanted to cancel and go somewhere else and they wouldn’t do a refund ...I’ll never deal with this place again and we stayed there a lot when we fly out of Edmonton because we could leave our vehicle there .Not any more

Response from salesw2017, Manager at Radisson Hotel Edmonton Airport
Responded May 20, 2020
Hi janeth293 We are sorry that you were not happy with your check-in experience. Your reservations were, in fact, a suite room but without a Jacuzzi tub. We have also verified this information with hotels.com (where you booked your room and not directly to us) We could have easily accommodated your request if we had any Jacuzzi Suite available but it was sold out. It is very difficult to understand what your issue was to address it properly from this review. We also called you repeated times but you didn't pick up your phone. If you would like to discuss things further to attempt some sort of resolution do not hesitate to contact the hotel manager. Jae Arce Guest Services and Sales Manager

This is a letter I sent to the manager Herman .

I called there twice and he promised me a call back as he was to busy to speak to me and of course he would not call me back.

I am writing to express my deep disappointment with the recent experience I had at the Radisson Hotel Edmonton Airport on 7120 Sparrow drive.

As a customer the service I received during my most recent stay was far from the exceptional standards I have come to expect from your hotel.

My stay began on Friday, October 20/23 and lasted for two nights. I had initially chosen your hotel because of its reputation for excellent service, but unfortunately, this experience was marred by several issues that I feel compelled to bring to your attention.

Our room was not cleaned when we came back from our day of shopping. I called the front desk and was told that I had to request this upon check in.

Why are we not advised of this or is it a ploy of management to get away with cleaning the rooms and saving money by not getting an employee to do this?

There was no coffee added for the second day and when I did request it, they did bring up a whole two packs and of course with no new coffee cups as the other disposable ones were thrown away.

Another issue we had is when we got up at 6 am for breakfast the restaurant was not open to feed my grandson before the hockey tournament he was going to.

I thought I would grab a coffee from one of your canisters but there was none made at all and the lady behind the desk seemed to not really care about that. Very very poor customer service.

I guess we were supposed to dig them out of the garbage. I did call down and request more cups as they never brought cups up for us.

Furthermore, the room I was assigned did not meet the standards I would come to expect from a Radisson hotel. The pillows were like some decorative half pillows that were like cement to sleep on.

Another issue was the constant barking of some huge dog on my floor in the hallway. I did call the front desk and all they said was we are sorry.

I did not realize when I booked this room that I was staying at the SPCA.

I want to emphasize that my intention in writing this letter is not to criticize for the sake of it, but rather to convey my genuine concerns as a concerned guest. I believe in the potential of Radisson and have had many enjoyable stays in the past. However, this recent experience was a significant departure from the high standards your establishment is known for. I will not be returning to the Radisson brand personally or with my business asI feel I paid for a service that I did not receive. and should be compensated for this.

I hope you will take my feedback seriously and consider it as an opportunity to improve your hotel's services. I believe that with proper attention to the issues I've raised, you can once again provide the excellent service that sets your hotel apart.

I would appreciate it if you could respond to this letter to acknowledge its receipt and inform me of any measures that will be taken to address the concerns I've raised. Please feel free to contact me.

Thank you for your time and consideration.

Again like I said management would not contact me and I would highly suggest to stay away from this place as the customer service is beyond substandard.

Checking in late, at 10:30pm, I have asked front desk receptionist to wake me up at 5:10am and Airport shuttle 5:25am. When I came to front deck at 5:30am I have found that I have missed shuttle, next shuttle is not available due to fully booked. When I asked why I did not received wake-up call and I have to pay for taxi, front desk representative suddenly appeared to not speak English same as taxi driver waiting me outside.
I think that it is an example of erosion of standards, definitely I will not stay in this chain of hotels and not recommend people to stay away of this king of unpleasant experience.

Don't be lured or fooled by a hot breakfast. It doesnt exist. The hotel does not take into consideration that their guests may have medical or food requirements which may only be taken care of by a standard hot hotel breakfast instead they give you what you get. They do not take into consideration that their guests especially business guests would have full days and would have booked a place with breakfast possibly to save time. Arriving later at night due to flights it was impossible to get the heating/cooling system fixed. The room itself was nice luxurious and newer but the appreciation and courteous treatment of guests was not there.

We had a long drive into the city and were leaving on vacation the next morning. We were offered an upgrade for a extra $50. Not sure that is a deal. Trying to figure out what we needed to pay for parking seemed to cause a bit of an issue upon check in. We were booked for the deal to get one week free with our room rate. We would we gone 2 weeks and had booked to stay here on our return. We were told we would have to pay the second week and because we were gone more than a week parking fee would cover we would have to pay 2 extra days . . . We were tired and just wanted to get to our room and didn’t question what we were told we had to pay.

Checking out the next morning the lady helping us did question our parking charges. . . .we appreciate that she did. Since we were staying at the hotel for 2 nights, she explained that those nights are free parking and couldn’t figure out why we were charged extra for that.

There are numerous places to stay near the airport, the service on check in and issues of parking will not have us returning to this hotel.

Booked presidential suite through American Express travel on April 14th 2021. Called hotel a day after booking to confirm the reservation everything was fine. When we got to the hotel on Saturday 17th the guy on reception tells us that we had to cancel your reservation because there was a glitch in the system and you got the suite cheaper than what it was supposed to be so we can only give u a standard room. We drove from Calgary to Edmonton for 1 night to stay in a nice presidential suite but wasted 1 hour trying to get what we booked and he told me we are sold out of presidential suite. How can they book the suite when it’s already booked by us. Only reason we drove to Edmonton was to stay in the presidential suite should have gone to Banff instead if I knew this is what’s going to happen. Very very unprofessional will never stay at Wingate. I had to find another hotel. And still didn’t get a refund... we travel a lot but never been so embarrassed and disappointed. 1 star is too high for the way we got treated unfortunately that’s the minimum u can give them.

I phoned and booked last minute after a mix up at original hotel. I requested 2 queen beds and dog friendly. We arrive and check in without issue, then later when taking dog out I'm harassed by staff about my dog- they want to know my room number and if I paid a pet fee. I would assume I paid a pet fee since I stated to staff I had a pet. At 4am the alarm clock goes off in my room and the adjacent room as well. I did not set the alarm, and there is Noone staying next door, so it continues for 15 minutes. In the morning I wake up early and attempt to make coffee in the room but there isn't any. There isn't any in the lobby at the continental bar either (the machine is broken) so I am forced to buy 2 crappy coffee for 8 dollars at the pub downstairs while the front desk people glare at my dog. I go to look for my reservation confirmation in my email to confirm the details about the dog, and the continental breakfast but it isn't there, much like the coffee/breakfast. I was able to confirm that they charged me 212 dollars for a room that was advertised as 125. Should've stayed at the first hotel that experienced a flood and had to cancel, at least their staff was friendly.
