I had my credit card in my apple wallet but I was told I was not able to use it to check in because he needed to put the card in the machine to accept payment. I was also asked if I was staying in the room alone - which I was - since I was travelling for business. My business partner, thankfully, used his card to cover my room, and when he paid, they accepted tap. I felt like they maybe thought I was a sex worker??? It felt discriminatory. My male business partner did not get the same questions or hassle.
I was given a room on the main floor. When I returned from a networking event around 9 PM there was unhoused people milling about in the parking lot. The window to my room was left open by the cleaning staff behind closed curtains, and there was a large gap with light coming in under the door to the unit. it was enough of a gap that I could see people’s shadows as they passed by.
The room was clean but freezing until I got the baseboard heater going.
The internet worked great.
The breakfast was great. Staff kept the coffee hot and the area clean throughout the morning and restocked items that ran low.
The gentleman who handled my check out, was personable and great to deal with. I had to borrow a charging base for my cell phone and he was very helpful. Checkout was smooth and quick.
