Excellent, as always.
We stay at this hotel several times a year, usually during spring or fall. This year a medical visit brought us to Kelowna for a 2 night stay, July 4 and 5.
We had anticipated that the experience would be very different, with increased occupancy during the summer holidays and of course a higher rate.
We arrived just before 7 pm. There was still plenty of parking. The staff at reception was friendly and efficient, as always. The lobby was clean. The pool was alive with families splashing around and having a good time.
We had booked a pet friendly room on the main floor. It was clean with a comfy bed. The breakfast was generous with several hot items and piping hot and fresh coffee. While we were there during a very busy time, the staff kept tables cleaned and the serving dishes were continually refilled.
Notable: Several guests figured they could just stuff their pockets and purses with 'food to go'.
Keeping a loaded luggage cart occupied parked at the restaurant wile you have breakfast at your leisure is not cool.
We appreciated the security at the main entrance, the doors are locked and only guests with a keycard can enter. A few times they were closed in the afternoon but staff presses a buzzer when they see you walking up to the door.
We look forward to staying here again in September.
I am writing this review ONLY because I cannot believe some of the negative comments a few entitled guests have recently left. It appears that some travelers are taking their social media 'arm-chair warrior' practice to a new level. Here are just a few general "tips":
- Traveling with a service dog? Obviously ... book a pet room!
- The kids vomit all over the bedding? The next guest will appreciate that your blankets don't go into the regular laundry! Obviously there are consequences.
- Don't have a credit card? Yes, the industry moved on, many years ago.
- Think it was overpriced: please compare and go stay at a Motel 8.
- Car was broken into? Awful, truly, but there are signs posted everywhere.
