This is a bigger hotel than it looks from the outside and is a little dated in decor, our room was at the end of a series of corridors some way from reception but easily accessed from the lifts.
We had to wait a while for our room to be ready but we’re able to secure our bags and have a wander around the town, on return the check in was very smooth and friendly although their policy was to take 200 dollars straight out of your debit card for any possible expenses or damage, two weeks on and I haven’t had it back yet, nice little earner me thinks.
The room was box shaped but of a good size, the walls and doors were painted in drab colours and together with the wood furniture, made the room look dark, it would seriously benefit from more overhead lighting , particularly when trying to operate the kettle which was wired up inside the wardrobe, new one on me that one, although there was also a coffee machine sensibly paced on a table.
The bathroom was also of a good size with a shower that worked well, as did the air conditioning which was never too noisy.
As well as the reception staff I have to give mention to the guys situated opposite the reception called open top touring, they went out of their way to help me with a booking I had “mis managed “ that had nothing to do with them, they were able to resolve my problem and saved me a lot of further tongue lashing from my other half 🤣
The hotel is slap bang in the middle of Banff Main Street with easy access to all the outlets, it also serves as a pick up point for many of the tours so all in all a great place to stay in Banff
