Where do I start- lots to say about this place. We picked this place as it is off the beaten bath, and we loved the idea of walking out of your suite onto a beach. We paid in February for a Lagoon Suite, room 611, 7 days, $3583. Maid service is $11 a day. There is 24 hour security per the resort ads-one is at the gate, the other we saw driving around in a golf cart. The actual lagoon is aqua blue, clean, shallow and calm, great if you have young kids- very easy to watch your kids. The location was great, not too far away from downtown Nassau (22 minutes) and not too far away from beaches and fine dining. We rented a car, as we like to tour the island when we visit. However there is much to do on the resort, there are 3 pools, a Shack on Lagoon beach for cocktails and conch, (which is near the pools), tennis courts, and sand volleyball. They have several food venues within walking distance, cafes for breakfast and restaurants for dinner- you can read my reviews for those. I try to be matter of fact in my reviews only stating facts. The great thing about this resort if you want to stay here for a week you could without leaving. The beach is nice, however the week we visited there was 30-40 mph winds a couple of the days, so it was too windy to use the actual beach- but the lagoon sheltered us from the weather. We loved the pastel Caribbean colors of the units. The airport is only 10 minutes away, but you don’t hear them fly in. Overall this resort does need TLC. The first night we arrived with family we walked over in the light to Blue Sail, and on our return there were no lights and it was dark, the resort had them but were not working- it was very dangerous for my older parents to see and we needed to use our phone flashlights to get back to our suites- when I told the front desk, they acted alarmed but they were not working the entire week- not sure if they are trying to save money - or just haven’t had the time to fix them. Pool’s are cold and not heated- and the ocean water in the winter is cold as well, so a heated pool would have been nice. Our suites were very outdated- our family had 3 on the lagoon. First security is in question as, 2 of the 3 suites phones did not work, so you had to walk down to the main building if you needed anything, my sister’s suite bottom door did not have a door knob so it could not be locked, and would just blow in the wind, and made noise all week. The pull-out sofa’s need to be replaced mattresses thin, along with pillows which are worn, kitchen utensils in many cases, are also very weathered. The grounds were not kept up, debris all over the resort, and the beach brush was filled with garbage - it would not take very long for staff to pick out the garbage that was stuck in the trees and sand dunes. We went to play corn hole the first couple of days and boards were broken as well as the sandbags ripped open- we told the front desk, but they were not replaced while we were there. This resort could easily have a higher rating if they repaired the items that needed to be repaired and updated the suites. At one time, this resort was probably very very nice. Overall, it was a nice quiet stay, ideal for families with young children, that do not want to spend the amount of money you would at an All Inclusive, like the Baha Mar/Atlantis for $1000 a night. We did bring our concerns to management, Leeanne, and she took care of all of our concerns that she could. A great family vacation with 80 year old parents- If you’re traveling on a budget and want to be by the ocean, and be within walking distance to stores, restaurants and also feel safe- this is the place! Thank you Leeanne for making sure our stay was enjoyable.

We had a great time at this resort. We could walk to everything including restaurants. The bus was cheap and easy to use to get to downtown Nassau! Way better than the crowded all inclusive mammoth places!

I was very pleased with my stay at the resort and marina village. The studio had the right balance of amenities for my 8 night stay. I enjoyed access to a quiet beach with a private area reserved for hotel guest, all being next to the Blue Sail Restaurant. The Marina Village had a good sort and variety of places to dine. Last but not least, the staff are friendly and polite.

We really enjoyed our stay at Sandyport Beach Resort. You are an easy busy ride or taxi trip to Nassau if you want to visit it, but you are removed from the hustle and bustle when you stay at this resort. Restaurants and shops are located conveniently near the resort. The people at the resort are friendly and helpful.

A loverly two day stay. The staff were so friendly and helpful, even repacking our paddle board for us. The hotel is in the perfect location for the airport, just a short taxi ride. Excellent breakfast and evening meal at the Blue Sail Restaurant. Will visit again next time in Nassau.
