We stayed in purple cottage for 2 full weeks in may 2023. Our cottage was seperate from the main accomodations and had great views out to sea. The cottage features a wrap around balcony with several different seats for different times of the day outside. There are 2 air con units keeping the place cool and dry, both worked great, although in may they were not essential with nightime temps of 25deg. Inside the cottage has a full kitchen which allowed us to buy cheap supermarket food and save a few pennies for activities and meals out.
The owners Danielle and Chris felt like friends and their staff at orange hill were excellent, always asking if they can do anything. Dealing with minor issues easily and quickly.
The food is good, we ate here a few times, always hot, good quality and good value. We often had a few nibble starters as they were delicious. The menu also changes daily depending on whats available.
The pool is located in the middle of the main accomadation blocks and was usually empty. We used this very often (young children).
The hotel is in the west of the island, which is ideal if like us you dont want to be on the busy commercial beaches. The hotel is directly opposite a public beach which is usually empty and was very nice for a quick stop to swim snorkell or build sand fortresses. Futher to the west is the public jaws beach which was very quiet and beautiful.

Lovely relaxed stay at Orange Hill. Staff are welcoming and helpful. Beautiful grounds and views from the second floor junior suite. Quiet public beach across the street. If you are looking for an alternative to the big modern resorts consider this inn. Conveniently close to the airport.

Room tip: Kitchenettes are not fully stocked on arrival but they will bring everything you need on request. Also picked up a few groceries for me on the daily run.

This is our second time coming to the Orange Hill Inn after many years and fond memories. It didn't disappoint a second time. If you are a relaxed person who takes it as it comes and likes things homestyle and low key, this is the place for you. You can hop on the bus at the bottom of the hill to ride into Downtown for 1.50. I thought the food at the Inn was great at the end of a long day, I didn't feel like going anywhere else. Bring on the rum punch and walk on the empty beach. No fighting for a spot at Orange Hill. This is not a resort, if you are a resort person who likes to be waited on hand and foot, you should move right along or you will irritate yourself and others. You will get friendly service, jokes, meeting new people, quiet mornings on the patio, a quiet beach and relaxation. During the week is the quietest time, weekends seem to pick up. Enjoy!

Room tip: Coffee and tea every morning in the "lobby". You can go to the grocery store with the cook, or take a taxi to one nearby.

Stayed at Orange 20 yrs ago on either end of a kayak trip through the keys. Decided we wanted a break with more of a Bahamian twist. Turns out current management are the kids and spouses of owners back then.
Not much has changed including the honor bar LOL.
We stayed in one of the cottages and were thrilled with accommodations - a little dated but clean and comfortable (room service was great).
Food was pretty good, and once again staff was great, About 90% of the folks we met were getting on or off a 2 week cruise or smaller island stay so lots of good stories.
Also lots of family groups.
If your looking for fancy probably not for you but if you want good conversation and a quite get away we would recommend

We stayed at the Orange Hill Beach Resort from March 8 to 12. The first two nights, we stayed in a studio room in the hotel and the last three nights we stayed at the pink cottage. The main hotel is older than the cottage but has lots of character and charm with the pool in a central courtyard (reminiscent of many hotels of the 50s and 60s). The studio had a nice balcony too.

The pink cottage is on the same property and it was delightful and romantic. The windows have screens and you can hear the waves on the beach across the road. It is more expensive but a nice treat. The beach was quiet and beautiful.

If you want a casual place away from the hustle and bustle of Nassau but close enough to everything (including the airport), this small family run hotel is a wonderful choice. The staff were great as were the guests. My wife and I want to thank the two owners Chris and Brendan as well as all the staff (especially Charlene, Agatha and Rico who were at the front desk). The owners Chris and Brendan were very pleasant and willing to chat when they weren't busy - all the best to you and your families!

Charlene was especially helpful and she has worked there for many years. She gave me a good tip on where to pick up some sandals and shorts when my suitcase went missing on the first day. Thanks Charlene! Also, Deborah of Deborah Benneby Taxi deserves a shout out as she waited outside the men's store (Hoffer Sport) while I bought some beach wear (we'll remember that for the next time we need a taxi during our next visit).

The food in the dining room was excellent.

My wife and I will be back!

Very average. Used for one night stay between flights from states to Cat Island. Rooms are small, hotel is old. Doors have large gaps where not hung correctly, or sagged. Noisy between rooms. Location is great across from beach and close to airport. Breakfast is reasonable price and serves the purpose. Beds are OK, sheets feel like sandpaper. Very friendly staff. Reasonable price for short one night stays, would not consider it for multiple night visit.

Thank you for taking the time to leave your review. We always appreciate honest, helpful feedback and work hard to improve on any elements we can. The property is older and rustic. However, the issues you mentioned are not typical, so we apologize whole heartedly and hope we can show you a better experience on your next visit.
