I write this review with a heavy heart because the property itself is quite beautiful and close to everything. It’s across the road from the beach and easy access to many restaurants and shopping areas.
My heaviness is in the fact that during my two night stay, I found the staff (particularly one front desk staff with dreadlocks) to be so unfriendly! I did not feel welcome at all.
I arrived and was given a form to sign with someone else’s details on it, followed by having to carry my bags up a flight of stairs, I got some assistance from the woman who promptly told me that she has a back problem so she can’t carry anything too heavy! The room was lovely - nice comfortable bed, large sized bathroom and a hammock on the balcony! But that’s where it stopped!!
No greeting in the morning for ‘continental’ breakfast- which consisted of toast, juice, fruit and yogurt. If you want anything else, you have to pay extra. I went out for the day and when I returned my room was not made up. When I call reception to complain they wanted to come and check for themselves, when two women and a child came, I had to ask for an apology, which I got and felt was sincere, and was offered my bacon, eggs and sausages that I had that morning, free of charge.
The check-out process was a matter of leaving the key at reception, no pleasantries, barely a goodbye!
This could have been an exciting visit if the staff were willing to engage their visitors in pleasant conversation and make us feel like we were welcome!
The vibe is extremely dry and boring!
