The ladies working the front desk were nice. When I peeled the blanket back on the bed the sheets had 2 different kinds of human hair all over. They came up and changed the sheets. I was told one price when I paid for my 2 nights but after checking my online banking I was charged $10US more. The tiny TV had lost of great channels. I know St.Lucia is a bit expensive for accommodations but this room was worth half of what I paid. I can't recommend this place and I would not stay again.

Service was friendly and room was nice and clean. There was a plumbing problem in the first room we stayed in and had to be moved to another room not quite as nice. However, a few months upon staying here I recieved 2 very large charges on the same credit card I used to pay when I was there. Although the charges were reversed (taken care of by my bank) I still wonder about the charges and the legitamacy of the business.

Thank you very much for your review. We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience caused to you and your family. This isolated incident was due to a faulty credit card machine, which was immediately replaced when the defect was realized. We are a business built on integrity and would never jeopardize our reputation. We look forward to your next visit.

My little stay at Stephanie's hotel was just a disaster. Employees doing inappropriate flirting with guess and always seem to be on a social network. My room's a/c was not working, not enough hot water had to shower with really cold water, my room smelt of wet paint still. Though the place looks nice on the outside, well up to date but the rooms still need work.

Thank you for your review and comments. During your stay you were informed that we were under major renovations and you proceeded to accept the room at a discounted rate under said conditions. While we apologize for the conditions faced during the renovations, which you chose to endure, we find that you have exaggerated on the quality of the rooms. We are not aware of any staff and guests flirting or staff being on social media and we have never gotten such a complaint before but we have alerted our staff as to your complaints. We urge you to come visit us to prove to yourself that our rooms are of a higher standard after the renovations. Looking forward to seeing you soon.

I don't know if there is preference for non-locals, but as a local who came from a different part of the island and needed a place to stay, I was appalled. The room smelled bad. There was gum on the door..and on the wall..and under the light switch. Are you kidding me? The bed sheets were ridiculously thin and one of the sheets had a stain. The one table we were given was broken and leaned over. I even found some random hairs from previous guests in the bed. To add to that...the bathroom light did not work. The bin had not been emptied by whoever used it last. Honestly, I wish I was making any of this up. It was very disappointing, especially knowing that there are other more inviting guest houses available for less money than I paid for this.

Thank you very much for your response. We admit that there was a rust spot on the sheet from the laundry which should not have been used as bedding and we humbly apologize to you and changed the sheets immediately. Although we gave you a discount, you refused to pay for the room. The rest of your concerns, we are not aware of and they were never brought to our attention. Therefore, we regard your complaint as pure exaggeration.

I stayed at Stephanie's Hotel in April 2006 and I would not recommend it to any one. They organised the pick up from the airport and the transportation was one of the route taxis which you would take from town to your destination. I had to shower in cold water during my stay there. I told this to the receptionist who said she would have a Plumber come in and fix the problem.... this never happened and neither was I offered an alternative room. The microwave in the room was not working...the staff were not very helpful. The restaurant - Pie Pie the food was not very appealing to the eye.

This hotel is very basic and in a poor standard of maintenance. As of Feb 2019, the photos on the hotel web site and on other third party sites do not accurately represent this hotel.

Our group ended up in this hotel at the last minute because two other accommodations we had booked had fallen through and we needed to find a hotel at the last minute. I can see why this hotel could appeal to a budget conscious traveller, such as a backpacker, however this hotel wasn't marketed as such and I didn't feel it set guest expectations very well. The price is at the cheaper end compared to other properties on the island, but you get what you pay for.

During my stay at this hotel there was a litany of problems, a few of which I will outline here. On multiple different nights, guests arrived at the hotel to be told they had no booking, despite having paperwork saying otherwise. On a different night, one guest came back from a night out to find his room key had been given to another guest in error, the key was never found. The hotel manager had to be called and drive across the island with a spare key so the guest could access his room (no spare keys are held on site).

On a different night a drunk guest returned to the hotel, became verbally abusive and smashed the glass of the reception window. Despite this, the guest was allowed to remain and come and go as he pleased. That guest did not appear to face any consequences for his actions and was often seen drinking alcohol in and around the hotel throughout for the duration of our stay. On more than one night music was being played loudly by other guests during the early hours of the morning.

The rooms are in a poor state of maintenance. Our 4 bed room was cleaned only once during our 9 night stay despite signage on the door saying otherwise. We had to request consumable items, such as toilet rolls and towels from the reception. Only a small body towel was ever provided, fortunately I had brought my own travel towel.

This hotel has about 50 rooms of various sizes. Our room had air-conditioning and a Wi-Fi access point nearby, but other guests I spoke to did not have AC or useable Wi-Fi in their rooms. One guest I spoke to had a room that did not even have a window.

Most guests don't think about fire extinguishers and whilst they exist in this hotel, but several of the extinguishers I looked at are in a poor state of maintenance, with their gauges showing that they are undercharged. I also didn't see any smoke detectors or fire alarm call points anywhere in the hotel. The smoke detector that had been in our room had been removed and only the plastic panel left behind.

We did not want to eat at the hotel, but there are some different restaurants within a few minutes walk. There is a Sol petrol station and pharmacy nearby for essential items, like bottled water, drinks and snacks. The bus stop for the 1A/1B Castries to Gros Islet bus is nearby. The Rodney Bay Marina is about 10 minutes walk and has a number of shops, cafes and restaurants, albeit at more expensive prices. The main commercial centre of Rodney Bay where you will find most of the modern shops, restaurants and bars is about 25-30 minutes walk. You can take a taxi for approximately EC$ 30 each way or use the local buses for EC$ 1.50 each way.

I can't really recommend this hotel for a long stay. It's not really a hotel for families or couples. It's the type of hotel that you want to spend the least amount of time in and just use as a place to sleep for one or two nights.

Place seemed a little sketchy. A bit off the beaten path, but did have mildly safe, off street parking. Odd rules like tvs had to be kept on sports or news channels or you could not leave any garbage in the room. Not a drop of hot water. Bedding was a little worn, seemed a bit dirty. The staff was friendly though. Overall the property just didn't feel as safe or clean as the others we stayed in.

Thank you for your comments it has been a great help.. All guest have their own Tv in the rooms and they are free to change the channels as they please, therefore , I do not understand about "odd rules" We encourage guest to put their garbage into the garbage bin in the corridor or outside your door ("what is so wrong with that") There is a note in all rooms which states that you must leave the hot r to run for approx. 5 minutes before it gets hot because we are a Solar operated hotel We respect the environmental. with regards to the bedding I will looking into it and communicate it to my staff although it is rather odd and this I apologise for any inconvenience caused .

My wife and I booked this guesthouse 1 week before arriving in St.Lucia and we could not be more happy that we did. The location of this hotel is perfect in getting around the Rodney Bay/Gros Islet area. The marina is a 5 minute walk where you can get breakfast, lunch and dinner and the beach is about 25-30 min walk depending on how fast you go. Keep in mind you always have the option to take the bus as well if you are not up for walking. the room size we got was a single room that had the following: Fridge, AC, microwave, TV, shower and balcony. Everything worked fine and the bed was comfortable as well. The only negative thing we can say about the guesthouse is the fact that it never got cleaned the whole time we were there. Even though its stated in the room that it will be cleaned every 2 days it never happed, I am sure we could have called to have it done but the expectation is set so we should not have to. We spent a few days with friends and we had out own towels so we never bothered to ask. The receptionist was always happy to help and we were fortunate to meet Stephanie as well. Very nice and welcoming. I don't think we met any St Lucian that was not willing to help. This island is full of generous people always looking out. All in all this place was good for our stay and would recommend it to friends who are traveling on a budget.
