Reviews summary
This summary was created by AI, based on recent reviews.

Bay Gardens Marina Haven Hotel is lauded for its prime location near the marina and its overall cleanliness, with the staff often described as friendly and attentive. While some travelers praise the well-maintained rooms and amenities, such as the shuttle service and pool, others call attention to the rooms' dated appearance and the noise, especially during festive seasons. The atmosphere is generally liked, but the presence of outdated decor and privacy issues at the pool are points of contention. Additionally, although the service is mostly commendable, instances of inconsistency have been reported, and guests advise being mindful of expensive extras.

Stayed here for a week at the end of January, booked all inclusive through Blue Bay Travel. Many good points, the room was large, clean and comfortable, the air con worked well and the pool area was nice and quiet. Although the hotel is close to a main rd we didn't find this to be a problem,no road noise and fairly easy to cross. The location was excellent,Rodney Bay,Gros Islet,Pigeon Island and the Marina were not far away and the hourly shuttle bus worked very well. The main problem for this hotel was the food,I would only book b&b if I stayed here again! I emailed a week in advance to inform the hotel that my partner is vegan and I was assured this would not be a problem, unfortunately the chef had no idea what a vegan can or can't eat,on the first evening she was served egg noodles and the second pasta with cheese!! We gave up after that and ate out every meal afterwards. Lots of good restaurants in Rodney Bay or across the road at the Marina. The breakfast was usually fine but nothing special and most of the staff were friendly and helpful, they just need a decent chef. Overall a good base for a fantastic holiday. Be warned, the country music from a nearby bar on Saturday night was really annoying!!.

My wife & I spent 2 weeks at the hotel in March, flying out of Gatwick with TUI. From the moment we arrived until we left, we couldn't fault the service provided by the friendly, always happy, & attentive team. The Marina Haven might well be a 3* hotel, but the service is definitely 5* as far as we are concerned! Our room on the first floor was large & well ventilated, and everything needed for a comfortable stay was included; fridge, coffee/tea making facilities, Safe, Iron & Board, hairdryer, A/C etc. Cleaning standards are high, with a daily change of towels, & bed linen changed 3 times during our stay.

The pool at the Marina Haven is small, but perfectly formed, and pool towels are available from reception. There were sufficient sunbeds available during our stay, but note, apart from a large gazebo, there are no sunshades!

Breakfast was sufficiently varied for our requirements, as was lunch, on the odd occasion we dined at the hotel. The dinner menu has a limited choice, but we always found something to suit our tastes, with a fish, meat or chicken alternative always available. Taking advantage of the complimentary shuttle bus service, we dined at the Bay Gardens Hotel on 3 evenings. The menu at the Bay Gardens Hotel had more variety & was included in our A/I package, with the exception of a few items, Sirloin Steak, Lamb Shank etc. which attracted an additional surcharge. We found the service to be a little slower than the Marina Haven, but the food was just as enjoyable. Unfortunately, our package didn't extend to dining at the Beach Resort, but for a supplement of $25 USD you would be able to.

To get to the beach, we used the 9.15am shuttle, which ran every hour through to 10.15pm, from Marina Haven. You're dropped off at the entrance to the Beach Resort & Spa, and in a couple of minutes you're on the beach where there are complimentary sunbeds & shades. We took advantage of a packed lunch (sandwiches, fruit & drinks) provided by our hotel. For our return, we generally got on the 3.45pm shuttle back to the Marina Haven, ready for a cold drink or two.

As mentioned earlier, our stay at the Marina Haven was made all the more enjoyable by the staff we came into contact with during our stay; and I should mention, the very friendly people that we met who were staying in the hotel at the same time.

Would we return in the future to St Lucia & the Marina Haven, without a shadow of a doubt.

Overall the 3 star rating for this hotel is about right. The location is OK near Rodney Bay Marina, and a shuttle bus service operates hourly to transport you between this property and the other Bay Gardens hotels in the area. The Marina offers shops and restaurants to try.
The rooms are spacious and spotlessly clean with large comfortable beds. There are just 35 rooms so the hotel never feels busy or crowded. No need for towels on the sun beds around the pool either. We stayed on an all inclusive basis which is a must in St Lucia as restaurants tend to be very expensive and not that special. Breakfast everyday was a buffet affair with Bacon, various eggs, pancakes, tomato etc, along with toast, cereals, yoghurt and fruit. Lunch menu along with dinner was a hit and miss affair. Some days you had a menu and could usually find something to satisfy your taste, on others it was a buffet which was rather more miss than hit.
However the saving grace was that you could eat at the Bay Gardens Hotel for no extra charge. The variety and quality of food there was better. However the Bay Gardens beach resort should be avoided if you value your finances. This Hotel is part of the same group and you can use their facilities at no charge, including sun beds on the beach, but drinks and food are charged as non residents. A simple lunch or dinner could cost $50+ and that’s U.S dollars.
St Lucia does seem conflicted with its currency. It uses East Caribbean Dollars but even for local attractions like Pigeon Island the entrance fee is priced in US $, so beware, and that includes shops too. If you see anything priced with a dollar sign check which you are expected to pay.
Back to the Hotel ( the Marina Haven). The real stars here are the friendly staff. They go out of their way to assist and provide a friendly welcoming atmosphere. The only negative is the Saturday night Country Music bar close by that plays loud music until 2am. Every other night is peaceful and quiet.
In a nutshell. Stay at the Marina Haven, eat at the Bay Gardens Hotel and use the facilities at the Bay Gardens Beach Resort.

Twin room good size, comfortable bed, cleaned daily. Some staff helpful and friendly particulary Cindi and Cleta. Grounds and pool clean and well maintained.
This 'complex' however, is way too small to provide and all inclusive experince as sold by Blue Bay Travel/Caribbean Warehouse and also variously missold by Secret Escapes. We didn't mind location close to Marina and walking distance from Gros Islet. It is however next to busy main road. Shuttle bus to village and beach every hour is great.
It is basic and NOT a 'fantastic boutique concept to discerning guests'. By day two we realised that they simply could not provide a choice on the menu for either lunch or dinner, nothing was available. Drinks were limited, only one type of wine, undrinkable gin, ran out of vodka! Cocktails ok … no mojito though as no lime! When asked to select from the menu we ended up asking what is actually available? Usually fish of the day (every day!) Mahi Mahi .... clearly not fresh either. A chocolate cheesecake that had seen neither cheese or chocolate. Breakfast usually ok but ran out one morning leaving only toast and some fruit. Even if everything had been available the dinner menu only had about three choices without paying additionally. Tried to resolve via Blue Bay and the manager, each one blaming the other. Waited 24 hours for response and told only option was to upgrade package for final three days (all inclusive in sister properties) at a cost of 600usd for the two of us. We declined. No follow up by manager or Blue Bay.
Note every Saturday night a bar behind the complex plays a rip roaring set of dubious country music until two thirty in the morning, you will not sleep.
On the whole really disappointed with what we were 'sold' and will follow this up with Blue Bay. Could have done without the stress of trying wring a response out of customer service from both the hotel and Blue Bay. This place is fine if you are paying for a B&B package. Almost forgot .... despite telling us our transfer to airport was at four Blue Bay forgot to send it meaning we were almost late for flight back. On the whole tried to make the best of a bad deal, weather was great, beach relaxing, thankfully some good restaurants in Marina and people of St Lucia lovely.

After our original holiday was cancelled, we decided to book St Lucia.
We like quiet small hotels, so this looked ideal.
The rooms are large, 368, but are dated, they definitely need decorating and bathroom needs attention. Rooms are clean, and housekeeping was excellent.
Television unit covers half of the bedroom mirror.
Food.... poor quality, poor choice, and luke warm.
Lunch and Dinner service was poor, when served from the menu. If did not matter if the restaurant had four people or twenty, there was always a long wait (minium of 30 mins). I can honestly say, we did not have one meal, where we said this is amazing, and we will remember the food for all the wrong reasons.
Regularly ran out wine, spirits and soft drinks.
We did use its sister hotel, the Bay Gardens where the menu choice was better, but unchanged over the 2 weeks of our stay.
We also used the Beach Resort Hotel, but be aware, you will be charged for food and drink at this hotel, as not part of the all inclusive holiday sister hotel package deal.
Also a public beach, so you will be approached by beach seller's.
We went to pigeon island beach, entry and two beach loungers £19.00. Well worth it, as much quieter.
You will be told you book trips with Beatrice at the Beach Resort Hotel. Catamaran trip £90 each, which was rushed and food was poor. Book online as cheaper.
Rain forest 3 in 1, £85 each, this trip was the highlight of our holiday. Our guide was really informative and safety with the zip wire was 100%.
Again book online.
Castries, went on the local bus. Apart from the Cathedral its not worth a visit.
Market stalls were repetitive and same price as gift shop in Rodney Bay.
Overall St Lucia did not live up to our expectations, (obviously watched Death in Paradise to often!!!) Would we return, no, as so many more countries to visit, but it served its purpose of 2 weeks of sun and relaxation.....

We went here in April and were disappointed, when we got into our room the TV , lamp and kettle did not work , we reported this and it was rectified promptly, the manageress asked if there was anything else & I told her I was vegetarian to which she replied she’d have a word with chef to put something other than meat on the menu , this did not happen , I’m certainly not fussy but you’d think they’d manage to make a toastie or cheese sandwich as I asked for , not to be , I was told there’s no cheese and after asking another waitress I was told there’s no bread ! Dessert one day was fruit or ice cream , I asked for ice cream and was told there isn’t any , next day I asked again and was told it’s all melted ! No tea bags one day ! Very poor and definitely not all inclusive , no snacks as advertised by Tui . The rep became invisible after selling a trip to us and we had to chase her to get a pick up time to the airport .
Rodney Bay Hotel down the road totally different , helpful staff with more food options , a different atmosphere altogether .
Tui did not respond to my complaint but they should not be selling this to customers and charging all inclusive prices , very bad and false advertising on their behalf .

The Bay Gardens Marina Haven is a smaller hotel aimed at people looking for relaxation and not much more. The cleanliness at the hotel is exemplary; so much so that I observed the General Manager at work with a mop and bucket in the reception area after a bout of rain. Unfortunately, the main area in which this hotel falls short in in the food. There is far too much reliance on buffet style pre-prepared food which is often no better than warm. However, this didn't prove problematic to me as I was able to use the in house shuttle bus to go to the Bay Gardens Hotel to eat in the evening where the food is a la carte and amazing. The thing that truly makes this hotel stand out are the staff. Daryl Aaron the General Manager leads by example and nothing is too much trouble. This filters through to the rest of the staff who are nothing but eager to please. One such example of this was one morning when I got up too late for breakfast. Anita the waitress saw me in reception and told me that breakfast had finished. I told her it wasn't a problem. However, she insisted in going to get me a pot of tea and some biscuits which she brought to the reception area for me to drink. Bay Gardens Marina Haven is without doubt a medium grade hotel with a level of service you would expect at a far superior property. Well done ANITA, you are an amazing young woman and a credit to the Bay Gardens Group.

stayed here with friends just before xmas celebrating birthdays for both sets of couples and we had a complete blast.
the journey at night from the airport to the hotel wasn't much fun but once we had arrived we were greeted with the wonderful friendly staff at the hotel.
Rooms were clean and the the staff did a wonderful job in ensuring our stay was as good as possible.
The choice of food was always interesting and some nice haddock for breakfast was something i hadn't really tried before. We were all inclusive and every evening we went to bed knowing that we have had a great day and probably way too many rum punches!
The shuttle bus was very helpful taking us to the beach resort and the water there was lovely and warm. Taxis were also very reasonably priced and i would recommend a day at the robin island causeway beach by the sandals resort.
A huge thanks to the girls who worked extremely hard in ensuring that we had a fab holiday.

We recently stayed here for one night before checking into one of the nearby resorts. The rooms were clean and comfortable, but a little older and outdated. Our shower drained very slowly so it filled up quickly which made you have to shower quickly. We did not arrive until 6:00 pm and with the curfew due to COVID, we were not able to leave to get something to eat. Since we were both starving, we ate at the restaurant on site. The food was good and the service was good. Breakfast the next morning was also good. The hotel felt empty - we did not see another guest during our stay. For a short stay, this hotel suit our needs, but I would not choose to stay here for a longer visit.

Arrived after a long flight and long process to go through covid tent and 2 hour transfer with rush hour traffic. Hotel lovley and clean and some updating needed but for the price was as expected. Room 268 was perfect for us. (no welcome cocktails ). Dinner Friday night was served in chafing dishes and not particularly very nice and desert was a small fairy cake and banana ice cream kept in an iced bowl. Steel drums for entertainment where great and cocktails even better. The pool is small but adiquate. The bar did run out of some stock but there are plenty of other alternatives. The shuttle bus is hit and miss. Some times you could end up waiting over 30mins for one and if your on a time limited you can get fustrated. The other hotels in the group are good but you have to watch what you order in the gardens as not all the menu is covered with the A.I taraif. Beach is lovley at the resort but get there early on the weekend as the free sunloungers are snaped up by locals. Also not a lot of umbrelleas on the beach to be had. A trip on the catamaran is a good laugh but the waterfall and mud baths are rushed and poorly managed. Lunch at the plantation was not very nice. All in all a good week for a good price in the sun. No wouldnt go beack to St Luica as too many other places to visit but a big shout out to Candi, Quincy, Nigela, and the lovley Knishnal who was fun, bubbley and looked after us above and beyond her job tital. Thank you.

Hi it is not a long walk to the Marina just across the road but it is quite a good walk especially in the heat to the beach resort. As long as you tell the driver when you get in the shuttle where you want to get off they are usually obliging, if they can park up.

You have access to the other Bay hotel to eat and drink, however the beach hotel you can use the beach and pool but you have to pay to eat and drink there I believe it was about £65 American dollars per person for one meal either lunch or dinner and alcohol, however you have to sign for everything you have and someone we knew who stayed recently was asked to pay for an additional bottle of beer .very sneaky
Answer from Diana S
You get all food and drinks free with all inclusive at Marina Haven. I don't know about the other hotels.
