This restaurant was recommended to us by our hotel. It is very well located in near Paseo de Gracia, it is a small restaurant but full of stories and enchantment. We asked what the 2254 stand for and the answer bewildered us, ASK!!
We loved the details like the table mats, each one has a different picture that comes with a beautiful inspirational quote. They sell the book with the story of how the restaurant started by the Chef and with delicious recipes. The owner of the restaurant is the chef as well, so that makes it even better.
Apart from all that, the food was absolutely delicious, presented in a beautiful and different manner. The service was very good and the price is perfect for the quality of the food and the whole experience. Would go back every time we visit. Would have loved to meet the chef, but since it was sunday, he was out.

We stopped here after having gone to the area for another restaurant that had a long wait, so happy it was so, and that we were able to get a table here! From the time we sat down we were treated to a superior service and gastronomic experience. Our waitress Francisca was wonderful with explaining the tapas and full meal process with serving sizes, and made excellent suggestions, from wine through dessert and in between. The duroc ribs, the calamari, the mochi potatoes, local seafood...on and on, were delicious, and the raspberry cream dessert was the perfect cap (that we weren't going to try until Francisca strongly suggested it). We enjoyed it all so much, we purchased the chef's cookbook, and will feebly attempt to recreate our favorites. Chef Nuncio's road (mostly) trip of 2254 kilometers from Palermo to Barcelona is reflected in the menu and the resulting creativity. A must stop!

Amazing place! Our Hotel Arts concierge recommended it to us and it didn’t disappoint. Everything on the menu was delicious and my kids thoroughly enjoyed sitting right next to the kitchen. Watching the chef weave his magic, especially preparing the smoked sardines. We wish we had a meal at 2254 earlier in our trip because we would have gone back at least one more time. The staff was super friendly and sweet. When they overheard us wishing our son a happy birthday, the arranged for a lovely lemon sorbet with a candle to celebrate (after we had devoured a full meal and dessert!). It was a lovely way to end the meal, especially when they sang to us too!
PS: the cheesecake was divine too!

Rushed service by waiters that are miserable and hate their customers. The food is nothing particularly great or interesting and overhyped in trying to say it’s a mix of Italian and Spanish. It’s ok. Basic execution of pastas. But really…lets go back to the service…the waiters are rude and spent zero time on the menu overview and shoved the dishes in front of us to get us to hurry up and eat and finish. Don’t go. Find another option.

A short and sweet review. Amazing tapas, excellent service - truly faultless. A great selection of traditional and more contemporary tapas, all beautifully presented and excellently cooked and or prepared. Highly recommend and probably worth booking ahead. Excellent tapas bar close to the Ramblas, recommended by the hotel and very well deserved excellent reputation. Tapas have a touch of Fancy innovation such as molecular cuisine. Hence a bit more pricey than basic tapas, totally worth the price, waiters are also friendly and of great help. Will come back

Okay, but nothing more. Felt that the food did not live up to the hype or the setting. It’s a lovely interior but the food was mediocre. Felt as though it was trying to be a Michelin star in presentation but lacked actual substance. For example the patatas bravas was served in some Petri dish style plate and actually only had 6 very small potatoes on which lacked flavour. And yet the next course would be big enough for 4 people. The staff who were admittedly very busy, seemed to be rushing us out of the restaurant before we had fished. Much better places around especially for the money.

The food is really good tasting, no doubt about that, but the service was really poor. We waited for over 20 minutes, they brought the food one at the time (meaning I got mine and my partner got his food some 15 minutes after me). And we got starters at the end.
Meanwhile, the people who got after us at the table next to us got their 5 dishes before us.
It was busy, but still, the service was crappy and the portions were super small.

The Renaissance Barcelona Hotel recommended this restaurant and even made the reservation from the front desk. 2 block walk and easy to find; inside or tables on the sidewalk under umbrellas.
The Sangria was great- but the best part: we asked for several tapas recommendations and each one was incredibly delicious! We’re not “foodies” but this menu is amazing! Suggestion: ask what’s popular and trust the waitstaff to give you great suggestions. A home run for sure!
I’ve never had an experience quite like this…we’re in Barcelona for one more night and wouldn’t be surprised if we go there again- it was that good!

We came here the last time we were in Barcelona, and vowed to return. This is an amazing restaurant. The service is exceptional and the food is just gorgeous. We had Langoustine, pork ribs, smoked sardine, octopus and Padrón peppers, and the totally amazing hazelnut dessert.
This place is an absolute must!

My mum has struggled as the food here in Spain is very rich for her (palate changes in your 90s) but she really enjoyed TAPAS 2254.
She had the suckling pig and tasted the tapas that I chose (I don't do meat).
Goats cheese fritters and the artichoke were both excellent.
Great welcoming and friendly service.

The food was good but overpriced. Nothing blew us off our feet, despite the 'edgy' combinations like ice-cream with tomato, gyoza with walnuts, artichoke with corn - all sounded much better on the menu. Wouldn't come again because of the dead-pan waiters who just wanted to get rid of us and were generally rude. The waiter also smelled really bad to the point where it waa hard to eat as he passed by.

We loved the decor. The menu is varied and great for a mixed group where some people don’t eat meet, etc. (which was our situation). The service was a little slow to get going, but once we ordered, the food started coming out right away. We loved almost everything we had. The tomato bread and the artichokes really stood out. However, the crab spaghetti was inedible - incredibly salty and fishy. Something went really wrong there. We also had two wines that we liked a lot and a Pinot noir that we really didn’t like, but they were nice about it and let us choose a replacement. All in all, a great choice for tapas in Barcelona!

This is the first time I’m reviewing a restaurant because - that’s how much we liked this place. My husband has been traveling to Barcelona at least once a year for the past 15 years, and was surprised he never heard of this restaurant before.
We went twice for dinner and had a chance to try a good number of dishes on their menu. There’s three of us and we tried the veal taco, mochis bravo, calamari, spareribs, pork belly sandwich, veal tagliatta, lamb shank, carbonara, and cheesecake to name a few. We enjoyed each dish we ordered, without exception.
The restaurant is small but extremely busy. The staff was impressively efficient, and don’t attend exclusively to only the tables assigned to them. Even during the peak hours, there was no long wait for the dishes to be served. My son has multiple food allergies, and we were grateful at the amount of time they spent going over the menu.
Kudos to the front desk staff at Renaissance who recommended Tapas 2254!

The concierge at the Mandarin Oriental recommended Tapas 2254 for a walk-in meal and what a recommendation this proved to be. This restaurant had an innovative approach to tapas that was unlike any other meal we had in Spain. The “Mochis Bravos” - their version of patatas bravas - was amazing. It was puréed potatoes whipped and fried into a ball served with traditional bravas sauce, aioli and salmon roe. The tomato and tuna salad was relatively simple, but the ingredients were exceptional and the flavor profile was excellent. The eggplant tatin with sweet and sour caponata was delicious. For our main course, the Galician king crab spaghetti was exceptional as was the chef’s pappardelle (with lower temperature egg, roasted pork, and a green pepper sauce from Madagascar).
This restaurant is one you should not miss in Barcelona. It was one of our two best meals in Barcelona. (See Rasoterra for the other.)
