We had a very nice dinner in the Pulperia.
The restaurant serves some bread with olive oil while you wait for the main course. The bread arrived warm and looked freshly baked.
For the main course we had octopus a Feria that was tender, salty and very nice altogether. Be careful it doesn’t come with any side dish - just the octopus slices. It goes very well with their bread though, so it wasn’t a problem.
My wife ordered gazpacho soup and grilled prawns. The soup had a nice taste but seemed a bit thin. Prawns very delicious but still in the shells when served, so it took her some time to start enjoying them:)
Our server Josep was very helpful and even gave us a little tour showing what the restaurant has to offer: beef and whole fish straight from the grill.
The restaurant left a very nice overall impression and is recommended to anyone looking for a great octopus dinner.

We had a dinner for a company of 8. Overall it was OK. The portions are really huge. The octopus was good.
The staff was acceptable, I’d say (some were not very friendly).
The waitress included bread (which wasn’t ordered) for €8 in our bill, but after our question it was excluded.
Actually, there is such a wide selection of restaurants in Barcelona - I’m not sure, I’ll come again.

Overall, we had a good meal because we were on a weekend break and really wanted to be positive. The food was very good and the service efficient, but not particularly friendly.
However, the portion of octopus with boiled potatoes cost 30€ while the beef sirloin cost 27€, neither of which are cheap even by BCN standards. Moreover we were charged 4.50€ for bread and my wife doesn't eat gluten so it was all for me. A big extra.
So with wine (we like Mencía reds so the house wine was fine) and a shared dessert the bill came to 88€ all in all.
We left wondering why most other diners were offered a complementary shot after their meal, but we weren't. Did we need to spend more? Or be locals? Who knows?!
Anyway, I'd recommend this place to Octopus lovers with fairly deep pockets.

We asked for a recommendation at our hotel, because we wanted a lunch that wouldn't need us to cut short our first day in Barcelona to take a nap! The recommendation was Can Lampazas.
Can Lampazas is in the middle of a busy block, but has both indoor and sheltered outdoor dining. Because it was a warm afternoon, we chose outdoors.
We arrived at about 2 pm, which was still the lunch (more substantial meal) hour.
We had water and a generous glass of a smooth house red wine while we contemplated the menu. We eventually chose the Table d'Hôte (menu du jour), that offered a 3 course meal for 17,50€ each.
My wife had seafood tagliatelli and bacalao as her appetizer and main. I had gazpacho then a wonderfully grille sepia (cuttlefish) that was melt in your mouth tender.
For dessert we had tarta Santiago and (mine won) tarta larpeira.
There was a 2nd glass of wine each with the meal, and espressi with dessert. Under 50€ all in.
Compliments to Manuel and his staff for a great meal.

We were recommended to go to this restaurant after being let down by another which was close by. Thank goodness we didn’t get in at the first one! This was a real find: the most amazing food with incredible fresh seafood and good Cava. I chose the black rice with prawns and cuttlefish which came with an incredible garlic mayonnaise and served in a huge pan. I noticed other people have commented on the fact that some of the waiters don’t speak a lot of English, but were those people trying to speak Spanish?? A couple of the waiters may have had a slightly surly look in that particularly European way but everyone was very kind and patient with us with our pigeon Spanish, and boy, do they work hard! There’s a reason that all the locals come here and that is that it is excellent, so much so that we have booked again for tomorrow night

There is a reason the menu opens with La Pulperia and the first item is Ración de Pulpo a Feira, it is excellent!! The best I’ve ever had.
We were 3 people. We ordered an appetizer and then 3 mains but we decided to share each “family style”. Manuel and his staff accommodated us perfectly. Each dish served hot, separately, with out hurry and they even changed the place setting between our seafood and meat course. Speaking of the meat course, the tenderloin is also a must try. Thank you Manuel for a beautifully paced and wonderful meal!

My girlfriend and I were recommended this restaurant by a hotel after a long flight. I looked on here and had great reviews so thought we couldn’t go wrong….how wrong were we…
Service was appalling….menu was not clear and with no service we had no one to explain it to us. We persevered and tried the octopus (which apparently this restaurant is famous for but at 29€ and so far not having the best time we opted for a half portion of this). The whole meal was rather greasy and bland. It was not what we would say enjoyable. If you order tomato bread then expect that…a tomato and some warm bread with a whole garlic clove will arrive.
We embraced the evening and thankfully the company was not as bad as this experience….

After 8 or more visits, Can Lampazas always delivers good quality food, service and details. The turbot with clams and potatoes excellent, the rice with squid delicious, the bread is good as well, and the octopus and calamari and the salad all good. A must try in Barcelona

Octopus is simply delicious, both the gallego style and grilled.
Portions are quite big. Service is very fast and kind. Manuel is a very professional host.
We celebrated a birthday and we were offered a cake and glasses of sparkling wine.
At the end of the dinner, they gave us a bottle of white wine as a present.
The location is big, quite noisy and crowded, but with an informal and funny atmosphere.

Best polpo in Spain! We ordered 6 different dishes to share and everything was cooked to perfection and you could tell were all fresh and high quality ingredients. Service was fast. Great value for money, including the wine. It’s a must-go and I would go back in a heartbeat next time I’m in Barcelona

A very interesting place. The dining area is a large room with tables configured in rows and rows. We were there when it opened and within 30-45 minutes many of the tables were occupied.
The specialty is octopus and a plate of it was very tasty. One feature of the restaurant is the large servings. So when ordering bear that in mind. The other dishes are a bit eclectic, prepared in Catalonian style and have a unique style that you should approach with that in mind when ordering. They are good if you like different twists on your seafood.
The service was friendly and knowledgeable and the wine list very approachable and fitting.

We ate dinner here after reading the reviews and it was good. We took the waiter’s advice (Alex) and had squid and octopus for starter - both were plentiful and tasty. Garlic prawns and salad for main course. Tiramisu and baked cheese flan for dessert and local cake with shots (local version of Baileys) to finish off.

when you enter this restaurant , you enter in a special beautiful decor, nice people welcome you . the food was delicious , absolutely yummy! If you like seafood, octopus, the taste of Spain. This is the place . Alexandre took care of our needs and he was so patient and smiling, he even made a surprise to my friend celebrating her birthday ! 🥳🙏

Service exceptional! Miguel initially assisting us to a preferred position and assisting us with the menu. Josep must be the most attentive drinks waiter in Europe , great service! This place is famous for its octopus, however it could be famous for its garlic prawns and grilled sea bass - brilliant. FIVE stars all round!

This restaurant is excellent!! The food is amazing- must try the octopus- I don’t even usually eat seafood but this is amazing!! The garlic prawns- fabulous!!! Everything we ate was excellent!! The service and employees maybe the best part of all!! WE WILL BE BACK!!
