La Cuarta is a small place with a clean white walls, white tablecloths and textile napkins. You can eat traditional Andalusian dishes as well as more modern dishes that are cross-over between Spanish and Asian kitchens. For example they serve a delicious tunga tartar with avocado. Another very tasty creation is a tenderloin from the famous Iberico pig very quickly fried and served with fruit and vegetables and Japanese soya sauce on a rice bed. We could really experience that the chef had a passion for her or his profession. The service was correct and friendly even if there was some missunderstanding because of our poor Spanish and the not much better English amongst the staff. This is however easy to forget when the food comes to your table. Strongly recommended!

We stumbled upon this restaurant when looking for something veggie friendly. It faces the Roman ruins, so you have a great view if you eat outside. It's on a pedestrian plaza, so no traffic either. We've had other meals in Cordoba and Andalusia that offered 1/2 plates and full plates, and expected to need a few large plates to feed the three of us. Fortunately, our waitress (from Romania of all places) spoke English and warned us that we were ordering too much food. Here the 1/2 plates were like large plates at other restaurants around. And the food was SO good! The best were the grilled wild oyster mushrooms, that came with just a little shaved cheese and olive oil. This restaurant was also very accommodating, changing a couple of dishes to skip the meat or seafood, or put it on the side, however we wanted. Everything was very reasonably priced too! Dinner for 3, with wine, came to about 75 euros.

The food is very good, and the service friendly. Moreover, the restaurant is opened during the traditional siesta period of 1:30-5 p.m. I’ve eaten there three times and have not been disappointed. Recently I dined there around 5 p.m. on a Monday, when only the outdoor tables were full. The rabo de toro (oxtail stew) I had was first-rate and the discussion in my rudimentary Spanish with bartender/waiter Pepe was great. They have both English and Spanish menus.

We found Taberna La Cuarta on Trip Advisor. It came highly recommended so we walked out of our way to try it. When we arrived there were four out of five outdoor tables occupied. Two tables had food and two were drinking. We waited at the door and asked the waitress when she walked by if we could take the empty table. She told us to wait. The entire inside of the restaurant was empty. We waited about 10-15 min as she walked by us many times. We went inside to see if the bartender or other waitress would notice us and come over. They didn’t bother. Eventually the waitress came back and seated us inside at the very back of the restaurant at a table in the corner and around the corner. We were given no menus, just left there. We sat for another 15 minutes as the waitresses walked back and forth to the front. I am not sure what all the fuss was about as the restaurant really was not busy. There was not another table occupied inside yet we were completely ignored, stuffed in the corner out of sight and out of mind. She was getting us out of the way. Eventually we got up and left. That was when she finally came running after us. It was too late. She may have been upset because the other waitress wasn’t pulling her weight but it wasn’t fair to take it out on us. We went around the corner and found Taberna Salinas and had a terrific meal. I would recommend you do the same.

We shared the mushroom starter and the sea bass entre. Both were nicely done. With wine and bread the whole meal came in at under $45. Amazingly good food for reasonable price! The service is delightful too.

The restaurant is very remote so you don’t get the feel of Spain unfortunately. You could be sitting in a back street anywhere in Europe and you wouldn’t know the difference. They only offer one type of red wine and only per glass. The wine is quite flat and watery. I’ve been in Spain for 2 weeks and at pretty much every restaurant you either get some crackers, olives or a little bit of bread to keep you going while you wait for your mains. Here you get absolutely nothing but you wait at least 40 min for paella. I googled top places for paella and this place came up second. It’s golden rice with a can of seafood mix. I’d give it a flat 4.5/10. On the bright side. At least I won’t recommend my friends to this one.

My partner and I had a coffee in the afternoon and a glass of wine and decided to return for dinner. The dinner menu was great. We had the veal tartare, the cod tempura and one of the fish dishes - bass - and it was all amazing. Our lovely Rumanian hostess was delightful. The ? Owner”? was very helpful in selecting our meal. All in all, a wonderful experience! Garcías a todos per la comida tan rica! Estuve un gran placer comer in este restaurante. Cuando volvemos in Córdoba pueden están sicuros que nosotros usted visitemos un otra vez!

We chose this restaurant has it had good reviews and was close to the hotel we were staying for our first night. We liked the seafood options on the menu and were impressed with the gentleman maitre d' that evening. The poisson cru and tuna tartare were fresh and flavoursome and combined with a salad and avocado base respectively. The pork was OK but a little firm for our liking. The dessert was very creative As a result we decided to go a second night and have seafood options but not the pork however there was no maitre d' or then from the night before so the service seemed to take a big dive with no leadership. The service was slow chaotic disorganised with wrong orders received at tables. This was a huge disappointment but it confirmed my view that you need not only leadership and direction in a restaurant but consistency.Yes a day can make a big difference in how you rate a restaurant

It was a bit disappointing. Started with me asking for a table with more sun, they said it was booked (imagine someone booking the table “under the sun”) for 40 minutes there were no one. And some tourists came asking for a table. The staff asked if they had booked the table, they said no, and they gave them exactly that table. Everyone who was coming the staff was asking if they have booked it, and no one did! No one! And they were “checking if the table is available” and of course it was. The staff is nice but a bit irritating like “oh you have left so much food” ( seriously, what??? ) The food is average. Nothing special which they are trying to be. The bread of the goat cheese toasts was not even toasted. They are not bringing any kind of olives or chips. Way overpriced. Absolutely not what they are trying to be

Don’t be fooled by the TA star rating or, more particularly, this restaurants website. It is, definitely, not refined dining. My starter was anchovies from a jar on toasted bread and the suckling pig on the menu to which I was drawn because the ‘fresh’ fish on show looked depressed must have been suckling for quite a number of years. My partners’ sheep cheese was ok but her squid and prawn “ risotto” was a gross squid, disintegrating prawns and didn’t present an appealing picture, so much so she left most of it. At least the wine was good but, then......

We found the service at La Cuarta friendly and efficient. The older gentlemen running the restaurant know their jobs and they treated us very well even though we could not speak Spanish. The service we received from our waiter Pepe was excellent. The menu is in Spanish and English and we started with a ceviche salad with orange and a spanish egg dish with seafood and potato. They were excellent. For our mains, we enjoyed the Oxtail Risotto and Cod with Pil Pil Sauce. Managed to make room for an excellent cheesecake and wasn't disappointed. Lots of tourists come to this restaurant with unusual requests and expectations, but if you are willing to let restaurant host you the way they host their other customers, I think you will be satisfied.

We loved our first meal in Cordoba here. Lovely traditional dishes. I had the Bulls Tail stew, I can truthfully say I haven't eaten Oxtail like it for 40 yeats or more my partner had a wonderful Gamba Risotto. The wines were competively priced and truly delicious. Our waiter Pepe was lovely, very friendly and not at all offended by my appalling Spanish They are open all day and easy to find opposite the Roman Temple give them a try, you can try the Sea Anemones but possibly an acquired taste, Certainly well worth a visit we will certainly be back there are another couple of dishes I want to try.

We stayed for 3 days in Cordoba and went every day to this very nice restaurant located nearby our hotel. It is definitely a very good address with a classical Andalusian menu but cooked with very much talent and creative touches. A major asset for tourists is that the cuisine is open early, we had dinner at 6 PM on their fantastic and shadowy terrace. A particular note to the waiter (Pepe) who clearly is a professional giving excellent advice and service.

My wife and I spent two days in Cordoba as part of a wider tour of Andalusia. We discovered this taverna, which was a short walk away from our hotel and it proved a real discovery. The menu is extensive and varied and an English translation is provided-always helpful, and prices are reasonable. It is in a very pleasant location in the Capitulares, a very pleasant square. The service was efficient and friendly and the food excellent. During our two nights in Cordoba we ate dinner here twice and we can especially recommend the suckling pig, caprese salad with mozzarella and smoked salmon and the beef tataki. For anyone planning a trip to Cordoba we would strongly recommend this restaurant.

Our Air BnB host recommended Taberna la Cuarta and we are so glad she did. Our first night we ate outside beside the heaters, sharing the large plate of Berenjenes Califales en Tempura (eggplant) followed by a delicious Rabo de Toro with a rich gravy for me and a peppery, spicy Pad Thai for my partner. We should have ordered the small portion of Berenjenes to share as we were almost too stuffed to finish. Add in a glass of Vino Tinto for him and a small bottle of Cava for me all for Euro 51 it was a delicious meal at great value. To top it off, we were offered a complimentary digestif (sweet sherry). A perfect evening. A couple of nights later we ate inside and shared the small portion of Grilled Mushroom with Prawn and Parmesan followed by delightful and imaginative Sirloin Tataki and a more traditional Iberian Sirloin. Again, we were impressed by everything. Highly recommend.
