We stayed over for a weekend attending the Langebaan marathon. Rooms are spacious and has WiFi which is quite fast. The staff are friendly and really accomodating on hand to help.

Food is yummy, breakfast is yummy and having cocktails in the amazing pool is very relaxing.

The set up is one to engage with other people and is quite festive.

Unfortunately, the hotel does not have power in the rooms when loadshedding hits which will be a problem in SA for the next few years. We found this a bit irritating as we had just driven for a while & were just wanting to have a meal and relax before our race.

They do operate the dining area during load shedding & that was okay. Everyone was in the dining area so we ordered to our rooms.

The hotel is on the main road and we found in room 2 that the noise from the main road bars and knuckleheads who drive like idiots vibrate in the room which woke us up. (Not the hotel's fault but the vibration of noise is quite loud) Our room 2 also sits next to the gate to the undercover parking and that noise came through each time it opened and it is like someone knocking on the door.

Bathroom noise is quite funny. We could hear our neighbours in room 1 and 3 each time they used the toilet and we are pretty sure that they heard us. Was a bit of a chuckle but I think that the hotel needs to look at it with some sound dampening perhaps.

But in all - we will be back because of the vibe and comfort. Their staff is really world class.

Dear Markjozie, Thank you so much for taking the time to review us, we hope that you enjoyed the West Coast as well as the fantastic annual marathon. Having been the weekend of the marathon the hotel was fully booked. I understand that you stayed in one of our basic rooms (which is close to the road), but it may have been that there were no other rooms to book due to the busy weekend. We are however in contact with the local authorities to address and try to alleviate the local road noise that can occur at night, thankfully it only occurs on occasions and isn't the norm. Thank you for highlighting the noise from the parking gate as well as from your neighbours. We will certainly look at solutions for these. In terms of the loadshedding, we know this is a bit inconvenient but we are working on a longer-term solution. In the short-term, we do make sure that all our guests have access to emergency lights and we make sure that meals and drinks are still served to our usual standards. We do value your feedback and we are delighted that our team ticked all the boxes on service (your feedback will be shared with them as well). We look forward to seeing you again for the next Marathon (if not sooner). Kind regards Vicki

Windtown is a quiet, modern hotel, situated at the best location in the Langebaan. It is close to the shops as well as a few minutes walk along some interesting small local shops to the beach. The layout of the hotel is great! Whether you are there for business or leisure. You can relax by the pool with a refreshing beverage from Breeze, the restaurant on the premises, or you can do some work in your room overlooking the beautiful pool area. If you want to discover a gem of the West coast this is the place to go! Great staff, great activities like supping, kiting or Fat bike renting. The best in the West.

Windtown Hotel is this amazing gem situated in the delightful town of Langebaan. The staff, the location, and the unique design provide a wonderful getaway for all. The pool area is beautifully laid out and just wonderfully relaxing, with great, friendly staff on hand to make you feel right at home. Breakfast was fantastic, as well as the restaurant, Breeze, in general. Great pool snacks and the best fillet steak in town!
Walking distance from the beach, this beautiful hotel is the perfect place to relax and take time out.

We have been to Windtown before and it was excellent. This time it was as good plus some. Why? Excellent value for money. Clean, well-designed practical rooms, an excellent chef, making high quality meals from breakfast to snacks for lunch to a full 3 course fine dining dinner. From fresh fish to fillet steak to mussels, to curries, to lamb chops. Crème brûlée to crepes, to chocolate brownies. A long list for freshly prepared cruising. The setting……a 2 minute stroll to the Langebaan beach and lagoon. 10 other places to eat, drink, get coffee or an ice cream, en route to the beach. Most of all you will experience friendly, happy, and helpful staff. Everyone can’t do enough. We were part of a 15 person group. The staff were attentive to all of our needs.

Had not been to this hotel before, it seems to be quite new. Bought an off-peak season deal for 3 nights including breakfast. The staff are all lovely, friendly and helpful. Underground parking is a bonus and will be a great feature in the busy season. The rooms are quite spacious with comfortable beds and pillows and they have special areas for those partaking in wind & surf sports where they can store their equipment. Lovely pool deck. Hotel is close to the beach and local restaurants. Hotel does have it's own restaurant. Breakfast was included in the deal and it was very good with lots of options. Would definitely recommend.

We had a superb stay at the hotel. The room was clean and comfortable. The outside area is really nice with lounge areas, pool, outside shower and a place to wash your kite kit.
The restaurant is well priced, plenty of vegan dishes.
I would call the hotel an eco-hotel, they have solar, no single use amenities, water in the room in a glass bottle and the menu has many vegan options.
The staff was friendly.
I would definitely recommend to stay here.

We got married at Windtown in October and it was the most incredible experience. From the helpful suggestions, organisation, pre-wedding menu tasting to the day itself, Vicki and her team could not have made us feel more special. They went above and beyond in every respect, and with such humour and fun. And the food! I have never had such amazing food at a wedding - every guest commented on how exceptional it was. They could not have made the best day of our lives any better. West Coast hospitality at its finest, with a gorgeous view, great staff and exceptional food. We will be regular visitors for years to come.

My wife celebrated her 40th birthday.
We made a booking for 20 people and usually you will experience admin issues. But all was perfect. Our rooms were spotless and modern and the beds comfy.
The pool area was a great place to gather, and the fire pit at night was pleasant.
One of the highlights was definitely the breakfast.
Amanda was great at looking after us and making sure we had an unforgettable time. To all the staff at Windtown we would like to say a big thank you.

I would like to thank everyone at Windtown, once again, for a most wonderful stay!

As always your beds provide me with better sleep than my own! Just love your beds!

The staff, as always were fantastic and went out of their way to assist me with my tea addiction and provided me with the little extra sachets not to mention assisting me when there was load shedding.

Thank you to all for a fabulous dinner (love the new and upgraded menus) and breakfast. As always my poached eggs were cooked to perfection.

Thank you all and see you soon on my next visit to my favorite home away from home. You guys always rock!

Hi Jenny O, Apologies, the notification for your question seemed to be delayed. For one to one lessons, R650 per hour and for group lessons (2 or more students), R475 per hour. We normally reccomend 10 hours to get you going. I hope that helps. Kind regards Vicki

Dear Philip, Thak you for your questions. We are based in the Western Cape but we are outside of the Cape Town City. ‘Day Zero’ (water being turned off in taps) is being planned for the Cape Town City as the water supply to the city is via some of the dams with the lowest volume of water at this point. Our water in Langebaan is from a different dam and we have a lesser population but saying that we are not sure if we will have the same scenario, we do however have slightly lesser restrictions in place. So at the moment we are all supposed to be using 100l or less per day for all our water use in Langebaan (laundry, toilet, showers, cleaning, cooking etc). Cape Town is going down to 50l from 1 February, we don’t know if Langebaan users will have to use less water at that date yet – we don’t get any advance warning from our local council. At the hotel we have a well point with non-potable water so we are able to currently fill our pool twice a week and we also use this water for cleaning floors etc. We are currently only restricted to use our well point on a Tuesday and Saturday and we hope that this won’t be restricted any further. We have been able to keep our pool open through the last few months. We also have a pool cover to prevent evaporation when guests are not swimming. We do request that guests have shorter showers and we do provide a bucket for guests to catch their shower water. With this water we ask guests to consider flushing their toilet with this or they can leave it for us to water our garden. To date we have not had any feedback from the council that the taps will be turned off in Langebaan, its only in Cape Town City and suburbs that will so far be affected by this. Although I can’t give you a definitive answer, I can assure you that we would make your stay as comfortable as possible. Please do let me know if there is anything further that I can assist with. Kind regards Vicki

Would it be comfortable to swim in the pool in mid April?
Answer from VickiWindtown
Langebaan, South Africa
Hi Philip, With our pool cover that we use to prevent water evaporation we find that the water temperature has increased. We have fewer windy days in April so you will likely be able to swim comfortably on a warm day. Kind regards Vicki

Dear Clive, Thank you for your message. Our prices were fixed at R45 for an extensive amount of time and we did not increase this price irrespective of price increases that we got from suppliers. We did have to increase the price in September as we had absorbed increases from suppliers through the year. You may not be aware but poultry and eggs have also very recently gone up in price extensively due to avian flu, this is the reason for the most recent increase unfortunately and it is something out of our hands as all suppliers have increased prices on poultry products. Should prices decrease in this regard, we would certainly adjust our prices accordingly. It is not related to the Euro nor visitors but you are still getting a good value breakfast that is inclusive of a good mug of filter coffee as well as juice. Should you feel that our R60 breakfast is not sufficient, we do offer a full buffet for R120 where it is not limited. I hope that helps. Kind regards Vicki

Hello, Thank you for your enquiry. I am not sure what booking portal you are searching on but we do have double or twin rooms. A double is a king size bed and a twin room is two single beds. You just have to make sure that if it is two of you that you mark that you are booking for two guests. You are more than welcome to send a booking request direct to us, this email address is available on our website (I am not able to insert it here unfortunately). I hope that helps. Kind regards Vicki
