Even though Mother Nature hadn’t been very cooperative, many slopes were open and we had a great 2 days. For accommodations, this time we reserved a slopeside, murphy bed, studio room, with a full kitchen. We learned from our previous visit that (surprisingly) the Tamarack’s restaurant does not serve breakfast; the only option is to walk outside to the ‘cafeteria’ in another building. Just a few minutes, but not really the way we want to start our day. So, this year, we booked a room with a kitchen and brought coffee, and food for breakfast/lunch. The room was clean and comfortable, and exactly what we wanted (other than being on the side of the building, not really slopeside). All of the employees on the mountain and at the Tamarack were very pleasant and helpful. We really like the underground parking. We’ll be back!
Second last year pool open until 11 and door to pool says 11pm but we were kicked out of the pool at 10. When I questioned the hours the girl said its been like that for years which is not true. I personally think they just wanna close things down early.
We then asked for a roll away for our son at 1020pm. We were told that housekeeping left and they could not check on this. Then received a call 5 minutes later and they said they had one. Brought it up and they said the charge was $15 per night. This room is already $425 a night and they want an additional $15 nightly????
Lastly, booked this room slope side in July and was given a crappy view room. The weather is terrble and asked to change to better room and was told impossible. The place is virtually empty and they cant accomodate someone that spends thousands here yearly.
This place is going down hill and needs changes. Room 419
They are also short staffed in hotel operations. Other ski resorts know how to properly staff for seasonal guests…….. today there’s not enough housekeeping staff to turn rooms and do pool towels……..
Finally, the restaurant is now subbed out to Sodexo. They can’t hire/keep enough employees as well. On the busiest ski weekend of the year, they could only serve half their tables for lack of staff. 6 tables sat empty all day and evening.
It’s sad because this facility is a gem and has tons of potential, just under the right management.
BTW, the ski/snow operations team is top notch and nothing like the lodging side of the company.
We found the room comfortable and roomy for a single couple. We found the property to be very convenient to slopes and having a pool, hot tubs, exercise room, ski storage, and parking deck made this a great option. The property also has the bar/restaurant John Harvard’s on site and this is very convenient too.
Room was clean. Price was reasonable. Lift tickets discounted for guest.
