The attention to detail in our one bedroom unit was perhaps the best we have seen in our almost 40 years of timesharing. Located with a view of the ski slopes it was perfect, especially when there was fresh snow. The close location to a small town provides shopping and eating opportunity for the non -skier. With opportunities for the non -skier both at the resort and in close proximity this location is truly a four season destination...small town America at its best, with a huge bonus during the winter months.

This was our 3rd visit to Holiday Valley, and our 2nd at the Tamarack Club. We love the mountain, as they are a decent size mountain with terrain varied for all ability levels. It’s an easy 5+ hour drive from SE Pennsylvania, much easier than going north to New England. A real plus is the adorable little town of Ellicottville, a 5-minute drive, with several great restaurants and lots of cute shops. Hallmark could make a movie here!
Even though Mother Nature hadn’t been very cooperative, many slopes were open and we had a great 2 days. For accommodations, this time we reserved a slopeside, murphy bed, studio room, with a full kitchen. We learned from our previous visit that (surprisingly) the Tamarack’s restaurant does not serve breakfast; the only option is to walk outside to the ‘cafeteria’ in another building. Just a few minutes, but not really the way we want to start our day. So, this year, we booked a room with a kitchen and brought coffee, and food for breakfast/lunch. The room was clean and comfortable, and exactly what we wanted (other than being on the side of the building, not really slopeside). All of the employees on the mountain and at the Tamarack were very pleasant and helpful. We really like the underground parking. We’ll be back!

The hotel itself is lovely and was clean. The rooms we had (two connecting rooms) were comfortable and had everything we needed. Showers hot; plenty of towels, blankets, pillows, etc. The kids loved the outdoor pool. The workout room, while small, had what I needed for a short circuit workout (though there were no paper towels/cleaning solution for the machines.) Unfortunately, we were placed on the 3rd floor (which is ground level) and on the front of the hotel. This meant the parking lot was right outside of our balcony and it was constantly loud. The snowplows came through the parking lot each night around 3am for about 20 mins, and it was very loud. If I were to stay here again, I'd definitely request a room on the back of the hotel or at least on a higher floor. For $1200 for two nights, not being able to sleep was a tough pill to swallow. The biggest issue we had was the fireplace in our room. *Please note, this is not to blame the hotel as this was ultimately my fault.* Just be aware that these fireplaces are *extremely* hot. We've used fireplaces like this many times and they of course have been hot, but not like this one. Unfortunately, my baby crawled right up to the fireplace and touched his hand on it faster than I could grab him. In a split second, he had blistering 2nd degree burns over his entire palm and fingers. We immediately turned off the fireplace and didn't use it during our trip, of course. I'd recommend that parents just turn it off entirely, as it was extremely hot even hours after we turned it off. We ended up blocking off the entire area with some chairs to prevent anyone from accidentally touching it. Again, ultimately our fault, but just want to sound the alarm for anyone traveling with little ones to just leave these off for the trip.

This was our first LONG vacation since COVID. Drove from MD into Western NY. Beautiful, but long drive. When we arrived checkin was fast & easy & when we got to our 2-bed room we had a chilled bottle of wine & glasses waiting for us. The room was nicely furnished, well appointed kitchen with dishes, cutlery for 4. The room was main level I believe slope side & a view of the golf course. We didn't use any of the facilities as we were there to soak up the local area & head into Toronto for a few days. Ellicottville is a quaint town that has some good & great eateries. I do wish that it could be more like NIagara on the Lakes & hope that it does try to have more eateries to chose from.

We visited this past weekend and the area the hotel is in is beautiful. When we checked in we were met with two miserable front desk staff. It was like they were annoyed we were there. Later my daughter went down to ask what level the parking garage was on and again no one wanted to help. We stayed in a one bedroom suite that is meant to sleep 6. There is no way 6 people could comfortably stay in this room. The bedroom has a queen bed that was so uncomfortable I didn’t sleep at all. A king size bed would be nice. In the other area there is a pull out couch and a Murphy bed. In order to use either furniture has to be moved. To use the Murphy bed the dining table needs to be moved, leaving no place to put it. To use sleeper sofa you have to move the coffee table. The rooms are dated and need a deep cleaning and remodel. My other complaint is that you need to pay to use the pool that has a slide and diving board. We paid for a 4 hour window but found that you could not easily get between our hotel pool and the pool you pay for. Everything is gated off and you either have to walk all the way around the front or back of the hotel. We had fun and enjoyed outer time with friends but I feel the hotel either needs to lower rates or remodel to the caliber they charge.

We are here now until February 24 and have come every year for the last 6 years. First, the room has wrappers under the bed and lightbulbs are out in kitchen.

Second last year pool open until 11 and door to pool says 11pm but we were kicked out of the pool at 10. When I questioned the hours the girl said its been like that for years which is not true. I personally think they just wanna close things down early.

We then asked for a roll away for our son at 1020pm. We were told that housekeeping left and they could not check on this. Then received a call 5 minutes later and they said they had one. Brought it up and they said the charge was $15 per night. This room is already $425 a night and they want an additional $15 nightly????

Lastly, booked this room slope side in July and was given a crappy view room. The weather is terrble and asked to change to better room and was told impossible. The place is virtually empty and they cant accomodate someone that spends thousands here yearly.

This place is going down hill and needs changes. Room 419

ALL staff were exceptionally friendly & offered good suggestions (Tara, Dawn, Sean, etal). Our corner 2 bdrm overlooking the golf course was huge, clean & comfy with everything we needed. Perhaps other prior reviewers' comments re: cleanliness were due to lack of staff during Covid? A nice welcoming surprise was a bottle of wine from Elliottville Winery we not only enjoyed on the balcony patio, but prompted a visit there for more tastings, so kudos for supporting the community. Due to our evening arrival time, their onsite restaurant John Harvard's was much appreciated & our fish dinners were both tasty. Also liked the return of complimentary coffee in the lobby to enjoy as we planned our day. Lovely grounds well kept. Didn't use the amenities, but others seemed to be enjoying immensely (pool, exercise room, etc). A very minor issue regards our being spoiled with a washer/dryer inroom in most 2bdrm unit timeshare exchanges. Didn't mind paying for the onsite laundromat, but the dryer takes more than 1 cycle, so may need replacing? We'd return in a heartbeat & learned it's much easier to book weekdays vs weekends.

Nothing more than a glorified Econo Lodge. Rooms are extremely dated, fireplace is a joke, Murphy bed is like sleeping on the floor. Front desk people seem miserable and grumpy. They need to revamp from top to bottom. There is no chance I would have employees with the lack of professionalism this place has working the face of my hotel at the front desk. The John Harvard's restaurant is like an old school Applebee's although the Applebee's food is better. We travel extensively and this would be considered an economy hotel in any other place other than Holiday Valley. Gross.

We’ve been guests for several years and many friends are owners. The current management of the facility is failing miserably. The planned renovation is years behind schedule. The facilities are worn and tired. There’s always something breaking. One week it’s the hot tubs, next week it’s the elevator……

They are also short staffed in hotel operations. Other ski resorts know how to properly staff for seasonal guests…….. today there’s not enough housekeeping staff to turn rooms and do pool towels……..

Finally, the restaurant is now subbed out to Sodexo. They can’t hire/keep enough employees as well. On the busiest ski weekend of the year, they could only serve half their tables for lack of staff. 6 tables sat empty all day and evening.

It’s sad because this facility is a gem and has tons of potential, just under the right management.

BTW, the ski/snow operations team is top notch and nothing like the lodging side of the company.

Stayed in a one bedroom slope side apartment/room at the Tamarack Club in January 2022. Originally planned to visit in mid-December but rebooked when forecast called for rain rather than snow. Rebooking was easy and without hassle but you must make changes respecting the deadline in your rental agreement.

We found the room comfortable and roomy for a single couple. We found the property to be very convenient to slopes and having a pool, hot tubs, exercise room, ski storage, and parking deck made this a great option. The property also has the bar/restaurant John Harvard’s on site and this is very convenient too.

Room was clean. Price was reasonable. Lift tickets discounted for guest.

Ellicottville is too far to walk to... you will want to drive. Parking can be scarce in the evening, but if you make a few laps, you will be able to find a spot. There is a large parking garage attached to the Tamarack Club, valet is free (they park your vehicle outside, across the road in a private parking lot), and there is parking spots located outside the main entrance as well.

Tom, We had connecting suites and they were both very comfortable. The only time we noticed extra heat was when we engaged the gas fireplace. There were 9 of us and everyone enjoyed our stay.
