If your going for the beach and river, this place is beautiful. It has sandy beach which the children loved. Fire pit for evening sitting by fire. You must purchase their wood at $1/piece of wood. Negative, the 4 bedroom cottage I stayed in was very dirty. They say they send in cleaners however I doubt they do anything but change sheets. The dishes where all filthy with grease of them. We had to wash e every piece of dish and cupboards, sweep floor remove very thick layers of dust from ceiling fan and stove fan/light. When I advised them, they didn't offer to reduce my bill only indicated they would be talking to cleaners. The frying pan was a very badly scratched up teflon pan which I refused to cook on for the children's safety. It seems they are depending on the renters to keep cottage clean when leaving. I understand that but would expect cleaners to re-wash dishes and clean provided equipment. There is a tv with no cable or satellite services. If you ask they will lend you a very old DVDs player without working remote. The fire alarm had dead batteries which took them 2 days to replace. They give you one roll of toilet paper to last a week in a cabin that sleeps 8-10 people. Considering that the cabin sleeps 8-10 people there wasn't enough cups, glasses, plates for our party of 6 people. They have a mini put near the laundromat however the carpets are very dirty which were black & mouldy & grass between taller than my 4 year old niece, I also found a horseshoe pit hidden in the tall weedy grasses. The restaurant and office is only open between 12:00-5:00 therefore if something goes wrong such as a clogged sink which did occur during our stay, we had to wait until next day to report it. After reporting it, they dropped me off a container of draino and a plunger and never checked with us again to see if it had worked or not. There is no cell phone services or available telephone in the cottage. This place has a lot of potential should the owners get their act together and clean everything up and be available. I gave it a 3 as it is absolutely beautiful view and I believe if they put a little effort, it could be a very nice place, however at this time July 2017 it currently isn't. I was told it is for sale, hopefully someone buys it and turns this place into the gem it is intended to be.

As a child I my mother took me and my 3 sisters to Nangor resort for seven years in a row. As we become older we got busy with life and stopped going. I had wonderful memories of this resort. The owner was wonderful and it was completely family oriented.
Now I have children of my own and I wanted to share the same experience with them.
My best friend and I took our 4 children there about 5 years ago. It was still nice owners had changed and were not very friendly. You could feel the family drama when going up to there restaurant. The restaurant was not as good as I remember. The beach not as clean.
Anyways the following year I decided to go back for a week with my Mother, my sister
and our 4 kids.
I was extremely disappointed. The cottage beside us was rented to a huge group of 20 year olds. There were constantly partying on the beach and using fowl language. It was not something I wanted my kids to experience on a family vacation. They were partying with loud music till all hours of the night. They left their beer cans and alcohol bottles all over the beach.
We complained several times...nothing changed. Since the previous summer the owners had separated and lived at opposite ends of the beach. The lady at the store was constantly filling us in on the family drama when we would go up to get ice cream. Some of the other people staying at the resort were parents of the partying group and confronted us about our complaints. We found out that the first week of July is mostly rented out to family and friends who are related. We felt extremely uncomfortable and and by our 4th day of our vacation decided it was time to go home.
We tried desperately to reach one of the owners so we could settle our bill and leave. We were avoided and just ended up leaving.
This use to be a wonderful family vacation spot. It saddens me that I now have to chalk it up to the worst vacation experience my family and I have ever experienced.

Myself and a group of friends have been going to Nangor every June for the past six years. Our group grew up together but over the years, have gradually moved away from each other, so our annual trip to Nangor is our once a year get-together where we have some fun, do some fishing and enjoy the beauty of the area.
I have nothing bad to say about Nangor. Like I said before, the area is absolutely stunning, The layout of Nangor has about 10 or 12 cottages located on a beautiful sandy beach. There is a restaurant, bar and reception area right in the middle. The owner of the place, Barbara, is a warm and friendly person who everyone in our group loves.
The resort has a restaurant but it never seems to be open. Not enough demand, I guess. No problem though as we bring our own food and if we run out there is a fully stocked store in the nearest town.
Tip: There is no cellular service at the resort but there is free WIFI in the reception area at the resort if you need it.
Bottom line: I love Nangor and will be returning every June.

Stayed here for a week in August 2017. very nice location on Hennesy Bay on the Ottawa River. Gorgeous view and backdrop of mountains in Quebec. Kids had a blast and the fishing was great. Cant wait to come back next year in 2018
